The Program Director plays a significant role in the business and is considered an integral member of the client service team. In addition to managing delivery objectives, he/she will have responsibility for customer satisfaction and the client relationship. He/she will perform oversight of geographically disbursed teams using established criteria and professional standards, and work with architecture/delivery teams to deliver full life cycle technical and business solutions

The desired candidate will have at least 15 years of strong Program Management experience and demonstrated success working and leading cross-functional teams and delivering cross functional engagements within budget and timeline.

In addition, key responsibilities include:

Lead client engagements from the initiation through completion which requires transformation of existing delivery operations.
Delivery of contractual commitments to the Client and Cognizant.
Agree with the customer stakeholders on the scope and timing of deliverables and associated SLA’s, providing regular updates on project progress to internal stakeholders.
Mobilize teams for delivery.
Manage a team of Cognizant associates and second/third party associates.
Ensure completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines and budgets.
Analyze and resolve issues/risks that have the potential to jeopardize the ability to meet agreed upon deliverables.
Mentor the team on tools and processes to manage projects, participate in hiring decisions and conduct performance appraisals on staff.
Provide full and accurate communication with the internal and external customer and vendors.
Manage internal and external client expectations on all project requirements and deliverables.
Participate in sales & deliver leadership to help shape and demonstrate delivery capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a client facing role in a consulting firm or delivery management role in the IT professional services offshore/outsourcing industry.
Ability to build strong relationships with IT and Business Sr. Management.
Demonstrated ability in managing internal and external client expectations on project requirements and deliverables.
Problem solving with the aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications.
Demonstrate the flexibility to work among diverse corporate environments, industries and technical and non-technical audiences.
Very good understanding of new emerging technologies and leading trends (Mobility, ECM, CRM, Cloud).
Extensive experience working with Project/Program Management processes, including experience with Project Management tools to plan, manage and monitor projects.
Able to produce clear, concise status reports.
Outstanding professional acumen with the ability to build confidence and trust with customers.
Displays effective analytical skills.

BS degree (MS or MBA degree preferred) or equivalent experience required.
