Director Business Operations Pfizer Madison

Provide HQ-level strategic leadership for the PCH APAC region, reporting to the Regional President to effectively and efficiently drive achievement of the global, regional and local short- and long-term business objectives, representing and balancing the interests of different regional affiliates.

Key responsibilities include:
• Responsible for leading any and all aspects of regional commercial activities needed to ensure effective leadership and management of the region. Work directly with Regional President as well as with the GMs, in-country organizations and corresponding Madison HQ functions such as BD (Business Development), Finance etc.
• This individual will be an integral business leader driving decisions and teeing up high-level recommendations for Executive approval, where needed. The combination of commercial skills plus operational knowledge is critical to effective leadership in this role.
• This person will help drive the growth of the portfolio of PCH brands within the region affiliates advocating the interests of those markets to the Madison HQ organization. It is expected that this individual will drive and manage all aspects of the business planning process and oversee and direct the regional implementation of various commercial initiatives and new product roll-outs needed to deliver short term and long term affiliate, regional and global objectives.

Responsibilities

General
• Provide HQ-level leadership for the Region in order to effectively and efficiently achieve the global, regional and local short-and long-term business objectives, representing and balancing the interests of different international affiliates.
• Drive and manage all aspects of the business planning process and then review and align with HQ to assure resources are in place to support various strategies defined within annual Strategic Plans, Budgets and Marketing Plans.
• Provide marketing and commercial leadership/guidance to affiliates
• Oversee the execution of key business development deals (joint ventures, acquisitions, licensure, etc.)

Regional Leadership
• Improve affiliates performance through active participation on Quarterly Business Reviews and propose more efficient investment shifts to obtain quicker/better ROI
• Analyze and discuss monthly performance (market share and P&L) with affiliates, including media reviews when appropriated
• Help to develop market entry strategies and financial business case for potential
• business operating models in markets new to PCH within a particular region
• Participate and represent the affiliates and Region in our key governance bodies (GCLT, GLT, EOT, etc.)
• Chair the OAT meeting to advance growth through regional portfolio management

Partner with global teams to:
• Leverage global best practices when appropriate to improve overall performance.
• Drive the growth of PCH portfolio within the region appropriately advocating the interests of the affiliates

Partner with Affiliate GMs & Commercial teams to:
• Drive and grow markets accordingly to the affiliate role in the Region development
• Identify, explore and evaluate potential new commercial strategies for the affiliates and their brands
• Identify incremental growth opportunities through new categories entrance, line extensions and new claims development
• Drive targeted investigation and analysis of specific business issues, evaluating competitive activity, product performance and marketing communications, sharing insights with Regional President
• Lead and manage project teams when appropriate, on behalf of regional affiliates as a part of the global new product process

One Region, One PCH, One Pfizer
• Drive collaboration and leverage ideas and initiatives across affiliates and Regions
• Support collaboration across other Pfizer BUs (PIH and PEH)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or business administration with an MBA strongly preferred
• Successful commercial and /or marketing experience (8-10 years) within OTC/FMCG and/or CPG and/or healthcare environment including P&L responsibility
• Minimum of 8-10 years of commercial experience in either brand/product management, sales force execution, financial planning with experience in direct to consumer advertising, market insights, new product commercialization or consumer promotion
• Demonstrated leadership globally, directly with exUS affiliates or across multiple countries/regions, with proven ability to navigate cultural diversity
• Proven ability to lead and manage in a complex environment (e.g. across brands, markets, functions, cultures)
• Proven experience in influencing and driving decisions and making high-level recommendations for Executive approval, where needed
• Ability to travel frequently to major affiliates and emerging markets
