The Deutsche Bank Americas Anti-Financial Crime Department is responsible for all aspects of AML Compliance for DB’s US Operations. A key component of our Program is the Transaction Monitoring system across all business lines. A very important part of which has historically been the monitoring of third-party funds transfers related to correspondent banking and corporate clients in our GTB business. In addition, oversight of various AWM activities and increasing interaction with other countries in the Americas are contributing to further growth in this area. As the importance of this critical control is growing we are looking to strengthen the team with a strong, experienced leader.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head of the Transaction Monitoring team with the management of the processes end-to-end across the largest business lines in the Americas. This includes ensuring that large volumes of alerted activity are handled in a timely manner by members of the team, and that potentially suspicious activity is properly addressed.
Assist with the oversight of Investigation and Research, Field Inquiries Quality Assurance, Systems Validations, and Special Investigations.
Assist with the oversight of a number of business-critical projects.
Assist with the maintenance of existing Key Operating Procedures and the development of new Key Operating Procedures covering all aspects of the on-boarding and current client process.
Assist with the oversight of the ongoing Quality Assurance and Testing efforts to ensure that the monitoring parameters employed at the Bank remain appropriate by internal, industry, and regulatory standards.
Follow regulatory changes and other developments in the industry, so that the candidate is in a position to recommend, implement, and drive changes to the monitoring system, including to the typologies and thresholds employed.
Work with senior Business workstreams to raise and address AML issues and to implement any monitoring enhancements that are triggered and/or required by new products or changing business models.
Interact with Front Office leadership throughout the global organization in order to address and take action on issues from specific cases investigated and observed and documented trends.
Assist with various examinations (i.e. External regulators, Internal Audit) during their annual review of the AML program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (JD or MBA preferred)
Minimum of 7-10 years relevant work experience in the financial industry or in a bank regulatory agency.
Demonstrated knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering, and particularly AML monitoring systems, with a strong emphasis on covering corporate, investment, and commercial banking activities.
Strong operational knowledge of USD payment systems, including SWIFT, ACH, and FedFunds.
Solid knowledge of OFAC and Sanctions.
Experience managing teams of employees, particularly in remote locations.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
The ability to project confidence, professionalism, and respect in all dealings with business leaders, other managers, and staff.
Experience with prioritizing conflicting tasks; with managing multiple ongoing projects, assignments, and tasks; all with a minimum of undue supervision and tactical instruction.
