Marketing Communications Director Microsoft Redmond

Located in Redmond, this role will be responsible for leading the executive communications platform, determining the appropriate communications vehicles (in-person, online, social, traditional, etc.), and crafting internal and external content for the Public Sector Corporate Vice President. We are looking for a self-starter who is quick to initiate and drive work streams based on external and internal trends and insights. Reporting into the Public Sector Chief of Staff, this individual will work directly with the CVP, as well as relevant business and industry teams to ensure messages reflect and are aligned to business imperatives.

Key responsibilities include:
• Manage a strategic, compelling and differentiated messaging platform (internal & external) aligned to strategic priorities and agenda of the Corporate Vice President in Public Sector.
• Collaborate seamlessly with other WWCB & GCMO communications managers to establish a fully aligned and orchestrated communications plan.
• Develop a variety of content and execute flawlessly across media, digital, social, keynotes, video and more.
• Creates and maintains a strong Public Sector identity including walking deck, videos and other assets Will adapt materials to meet the needs of different audiences, different channels and digitization strategy as required by the communications plan.
• Advises on internal meetings logistics for All Hands, Q&A sessions, etc.
• Monitors impact and results of the communications to drive business impact and make needed modifications over time.
• Abreast of latest industry trends and market insights to capitalize on “in the moment” communication opportunities.
• Partners with Marketing & external communications disciplines (PR, AR, IR etc) on opportunities and messaging alignment.

Qualifications and skills:
• BA in communications or related degree, or equivalent experience, MBA preferred.
• 8+ years relevant exec communications experience.
• 3 or more years working with a CVP or above.
• Must have exceptional messaging and writing skills and the ability to leverage multiple channels to land meaningful narratives.
• Has exceptional attention to detail and ensures accuracy in all communications deliverables.
• Can project manage multiple communication projects simultaneously and drive strong work-back plans and milestones.
• Ability to work effectively at all levels - with exceptional poise and executive maturity.
• Extensive cross-group collaboration & ability to influence at all levels of the company.
• Domain knowledge in public sector industries.
• Manages confidentiality without exception; demonstrates outstanding judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment; Demonstrated ability to have fun.
