Director - User Experience - Applico - Greater New York


Job description
Work with our partners to refine goals and work towards establishing design narrative for their digital products
Champion User Experience thought leadership for Applico, our clients and the industry
Manage, mentor and inspire a creative team that constitutes user experience, visual and interaction designers
Understands and can drive key mobile information architecture
Drive innovation across mobile based product lines
Work with UI/UX teams to bring engaging user experiences to life
Partner with clients on business goals from a visual perspective
Collaborate with senior management on the long term vision for what constitutes a mobile experience
Is able to quickly adapt to multiple SDLC’s (Agile vs. Waterfall)
Values user testing as much as we do!

Desired Skills and Experience
5-10 years of industry experience
Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote and inDesign
Experience with agile and scrum type tools
Experience managing large teams, including identifying, recruiting and mentoring creative talent
Platform experience, with experience moving a set of features from one platform to another (iOS, Android, Windows Phone)
Possesses effective and clear communication skills
Current and thorough understanding of consumer internet, enterprise, mobile, and connected technologies
Ability to comfortably articulate, pitch and sell ideas
Demonstrated portfolio of award winning projects
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communications, HCI, Fine Arts or related area
