Within MCIO the Datacenter Strategy, Planning and Development team is looking to fill a critical and high-profile role that ensures the team delivers datacenter capacity according to our safety, quality, schedule and cost goals. As the Director of the Datacenter Delivery Program Management team you will lead a team that manages complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and fitout projects ensuring end-to-end delivery of new datacenter capacity.
Watch: Career Advice This includes deep understanding of datacenter program goals, creating and managing project schedules, identifying and mitigating conflicts and risks, working to accelerate or compress schedules where needed, clearly communicating to project stakeholders as well as ensuring changes to the charter and/or baseline are well understood and approved at the appropriate time. You will ensure positive engagement across teams for all phases of project, from kick-off to close-out.
Minimum qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of technical project management experience including expert use of Project Server or equivalent software.
• 5 years of people management experience with history of strong manager feedback and building high performing teams including team members who work in our satellite offices in Dublin and Singapore
• Experience with two or more of the following: server hardware and software, network hardware and software, datacenter infrastructure and operations and/or mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience managing teams who deliver complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary construction projects, including a strong working knowledge of construction contracts, change control, project reporting, design development, commissioning and handover.
• PMP certification, ability to drive standard and predictable delivery across projects in the portfolio
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, filter ideas and create actionable plans for the organization to execute
• Ability to build positive relationships and develop support from a wide variety stakeholders including capacity and supply managers, site selection managers, construction managers and IT engineers as well as finance, software architects and senior executives.
• Excellent analytical, qualitative and presentation skills.
• Ability to drive constant innovation, improvement cycles and lean principles while bringing constructive tension and challenger mindset. Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing training or experience.
Approximately 10% travel required for this position.
