Manager Strategy Operations Alphabet Finance Google Mountain View

As Manager of Strategy and Operations for Alphabet Finance, you will partner closely with the Corporate Controller and Chief Accountant to drive key team initiatives forward. You support the leadership team in developing their strategic plan, developing an execution plan and then driving the team to exceed expectations against that plan. You will partner to communicate strategy and decision-making with the management team and other key stakeholders as well as cross-functionally, and through your collaborative approach and ability to tie things together, help us drive our One Finance philosophy.

You will also build strong partnerships across functions, so you must inspire trust by demonstrating excellent judgment and integrity. Along with your strategic advice, tactical responsibilities include setting the management team’s weekly agenda, monitoring and reporting on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and operational metrics status, organizing All-Hands meetings, coordinating communications, and leading ad-hoc Finance-wide projects. You will have a pulse on the team and its working dynamics, and as a key advisor across the organization, will help us build and maintain a high performing team. Finally, you should have a strong bias to action and process expertise, partnering across the team to drive results, reduce risk, and increase efficiencies.

You should be a self starter that can "crunch the numbers" one minute, partner with senior stakeholders to think through strategic issues, and communicate effectively with a global Finance team to drive significant change initiatives. You will gain invaluable experience in this high impact role working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
Establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing the organization.
Partner effectively on behalf of the management team cross-functionally to drive key strategic processes and initiatives.
Provide insightful data-driven strategic recommendations to leadership, based on analysis, experience, technical acumen and good judgment.
Facilitate communication and decision-making with leaders and teams within the organization and across Google.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in accounting, finance and controls.

Preferred qualifications:
MBA degree.
CPA.
Knowledgeable about and able to work across multiple functions - including FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations, FinOps, and Internal Audit.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Ability to identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
Solid analytical skills and ability to create strategic data-driven recommendations. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and credibility.
Strong program/project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives. Excellent problem-solving ability and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
