The Director of Tech Partnerships and Emerging Platforms is responsible for unearthing and operationalizing new, disruptive technology, content streams and emerging platforms that deliver positive brand equity and impact how consumers, shop, experience and discover Diageo’s brands. This role will translate future facing technology concepts and emerging cultural trends into tangible business platforms to help drive long term growth for Diageo’s brand portfolio. In this capacity, this role must have strong communications and relationship management skills to deliver comprehensive programs within the Culture & Partnership team.

Responsibilities


Establish Diageo’s strategic direction, development and future growth in emerging media and tech partnerships and integrations.
Put forth processes and procedures that transform how technology and platform partnerships can impact the way consumers shop, experience and discover Diageo brands.
Pinpoint the latest in tech innovations, emerging media platforms and digital influencer communities before they trend.
Identify a sustained approach to digital creator and digital influencer communities, understand their influence and how to best interact to build brand affinity, cultural currency and sustained pipeline of digital creator and influencer partnerships.
Develop ideas and initiatives that integrate the latest in tech and emerging media platforms into Diageo business development, strategic partnerships and futures plans.
Lead cutting-edge technology and emerging media partnerships, collaborations and integrations by collaborating across Diageo functions, brand teams, vendors and agencies.
Execute projects, partnerships and integrations seamlessly, while always keeping strategic goals for overall portfolio success top of mind.
Provide consulting services to brands and other Diageo groups on new tech partners and emerging partnerships.
Represent Diageo to outside organizations and partners to identify new opportunities.

Experience/Complexity of Role

Minimum 10 years leading digital innovation, tech and emerging media integrations and strategic partnerships.
Track record of ideating, developing and executing out-of-the-box new media and strategic tech partnerships that translate to long term growth for luxury and premium brands.
An established presence in the technology and digital industry, and the ability to bring forth insider insights and opportunities due to long lasting connections and knowledge of landscape.
An innate ability to build strong, credible bonds and relationships — both internally and externally — to drive momentum and collaboration on projects.
Experience leading multifaceted teams into uncharted territory and overseeing large groups of partners, project teams, agencies and vendors on one-of-a-kind projects.
Proactive by nature, and confident in autonomous and often ambiguous situations.
Strong external radar and sense of curiosity regarding all things technology.
Excellent communication and proven experience of influencing teams and stakeholders.
Track record of delivering tangible outputs and results on projects.
Strong budget and project management experience.
