Responsibilities The director of digital media is responsible for identifying the most effective strategies to reach and connect with McDonald’s key target audiences through digital media, and work with regional and market leads to set guidelines and standards for markets. The corporate team focuses on establishing strategic frameworks for our market teams to ensure McDonald’s system-wide digital media strategies effectively leverage paid media channels and are seamlessly part of a holistic multi-channel communications approach. The digital media director will lead his/her team to plan based on a strong foundation of media principles as well as an eye towards innovation. This includes being a point of contact for the global media agency teams as well as collaborating with marketing and digital marketing colleagues to ensure brand McDonald’s is delivering a holistic brand experience across all media channels. This position will report to the Corporate Engagement Lead




Responsibilities:




· Ensure system wide digital media strategies effectively leverage paid media channels and are seamlessly part of a holistic multi-channel communications planning approach including use of owned channels by leading corporate digital media team and collaborating with regional digital media colleagues to:



§ Establish digital media benchmarks & KPIs for markets to evolve media and digital media mix in alignment with consumer media behavior across all channels & formats (i.e. mobile, social, online video, display, etc)



§ Identify & socialize digital media principles for markets including across paid search, programmatic, audience targeting, and digital media buying best practices




· Proactively bring innovative new ideas and explore growth opportunities in the rapidly changing digital media environment



· Lead & socialize media measurement approach with markets, including development of key media KPIs and successful execution against them, most specifically within digital media.



· Provide guidance to market teams for analyzing and interpreting data to make strong data-driven marketing decisions



· Collaborate with Social Media and Digital Marketing leads to contribute strategically to integrated marketing plans



· Oversee and ensure ongoing development of direct reports



· Provide guidance to market teams to steward digital media budget driving value against marketplace and ensuring allocation of resources will sufficiently drive against business and marketing goals



· Manage and lead global digital media partnerships & deals



· Responsible for direction and oversight of external global media agency teams and partners








Minimum Requirements



· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced business degree preferred.



· 7+ years of experience in Media, Digital Media or a Media-related field required



· Hybrid candidate who demonstrates strong short-term campaign/project management skills and long-term strategic vision abilities



· Experience managing the development and execution of digital media strategies.



· Direct agency management experience; contract management experience preferred



· Experience using analytics and measurement to inform data-driven decisions for organizations; experience with econometric modeling preferred



· Direct financial stewardship experience managing multi-million dollar media budgets



· Autonomous leader who can represent and interact at senior management level



· Equally conversant with strategy, implementation and digital media execution and analytics.

· Excellent oral communications and presentation skills; exceptional writing and editing skills.



· Creative self-starter who brings a sense of urgency and strong work ethic and passion to the position.



· Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

· Deadline-oriented, prioritizes appropriately, flexible, maintains grace under pressure and can deal with high-profile individuals



· Problem-solver and team player who is willing to jump into any project large or small and mentor junior staff.



· Food experience, either natural or CPG, a plus.

· Estimated travel required: 5-10%
