Senior Director Pension Advisory Sanofi Bridgewater

Responsible for the oversight of the company’s 401(K) savings plan with a scope of responsibility of $5 billion in plan assets and annual provider budget of over $15 million. The director will drive the strategic evaluation process of current 401(K) investment set-up and will manage a subsequent review of existing providers including the record keeper and asset managers. The director will also act as a representative of Sanofi Pension Advisory to Canadian pension plans of the group and will help deliver on specific business objectives of pension advisory aiming at consolidation of providers and further centralization of pension investments group-wide.

The position is a Secretary to the Sanofi US Pension Investment Committee, a representative of Sanofi Pension Advisory at Canadian Investment Committee and a DC functional expert at Sanofi Global Pension Investment Committee.

Supervised Resources:
Coordinating providers for pension investments >$5 billion with annual fees >$15 million in the US and in Canada
Management of external providers like consultants, record keeper, asset managers, custodians etc.
Driving committees’ work focusing on best outcomes for plan participants
Key Accountabilities:
Support the US Pension Investment Committee in meeting its fiduciary obligation to manage the 401(K) plan
Lead a strategic evaluation project of the existing 401(K) investment set-up and providers to assure best outcomes for plan participants in a fast changing environment
Work with stakeholders to implement any required changes
Manage relationships with internal customers (HR benefits, Legal, Tax, etc.) and external service providers (consultants, record keeper, investment managers, custodians, auditors etc.)
Monitor and benchmark quality of services and fees paid to providers
Act as a Secretary to the US Pension Investment Committee, support its Chairman in setting the agenda and taking minutes
Act as a representative of Sanofi Pension Advisory to Canadian pension committee
Report as a functional expert to the Sanofi Global Pension Investment Committee on all aspects of the 401(K) plan, Canadian pension plans as well as more broadly on best practices in Defined Contribution investing
Support special projects for the Global Pension Investment Committee and Head of Sanofi Pension Advisory

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
10+ years’ experience in pension investments in an international context, preferably with a large multinational plan sponsor, consulting organization or investment manager
5+ years’ experience managing 401(K) plans
Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate should have a proven track-record of good stakeholder management skills and the ability to work transversally across functions like Finance and HR
Ability to effectively function as part of an international team, and work effectively with a wide range of service providers
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a diverse knowledge of 401(K) plans
The candidate should also show an ability to create a good team spirit and be a true team player
