FSC is seeking a lead for our Product Engineering effort who will lead, drive, and make engineering design and development decisions for FSC’s products and technology platforms. As the lead of product engineering, this individual will work closely with the FSC Director of Product Management to define product requirements and guide the product development helping the team architect, develop, implement and bring to market successful new technology products.
A key aspect of this position will be building and leading a strong multi-disciplinary team across multiple locations, and working, communicating, and interfacing with Flex internal and external customers, engineers from FLEX design teams, and third-party engineering teams to deliver an optimized product solution. Some travel will be required to conceptualize and iterate design solutions, support the NPI process, and transition products to FLEX factory sites.
The Product Engineering lead will be focused on product and process development, developing clear communication channels and direction among cross-functional teams. The selected candidate will be the primary channel for daily interaction between all parties with a stake in the design of FSC products including FLEX design centers, FSC teammates, and 3rd parties. This leader will use their experience in leading cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in: adherence to program schedules, compliance with FLEX’s Product Life Cycle (Flex PLC) method and milestones, applying focus to design-for-cost and other DFx disciplines, rapid resolution of technical challenges, identifying and closing gaps in product costs, progression through the NPI process, and successful transition to a FLEX production site.
The Product Engineering lead will be accountable for driving product design and engineering to achieve pre-determined cost, quality, and schedule targets, working closely with other technical peers across FLEX. The Product Engineering lead will also share accountability and ownership with the FSC leadership team to ensure FSC success and sustain its edge for faster time to market over alternate or competing solutions.
