Portfolio Marketing Director SDDC VMware Palo Alto

The Director of Portfolio Marketing for the SDDC Business Units has the responsibilities to:
• Lead a cross-functional virtual team to develop integrated marketing plans that align to the customer’s buying cycle and deliver results
o Serve as Global Marketing point representative for launches and develop marketing launch plans
o Drive the execution of integrated marketing plans for the BU products/solutions to deliver targeted results (e.g. marketing source pipeline, awareness targets)
o Gather and report on results on marketing led initiatives to business goals and objectives
• Work cross-functionally too coordinate marketing strategy and execution with Global GTM, Enablement, Services organizations to foster GTM alignment.
• Source and/or develop assets to support marketing initiatives (Global, Regional and Partner) – including thought leadership assets, business level whitepapers, presentations, infographics, webcasts, etc. to be used by Regional Marketing teams, Global Marketing Functions, Strategic Audience Programs and Partner Marketing
• Engage with regional marketing and sales leaders to gather requirements and feedback to develop relevant and compelling assets and tools for our customers and channel
• Serve as Marketing liaison to Business Unit Product Marketing teams
o Attend regular team meetings
o Understand the overall BU product strategy and goals, product value propositions , competitive differentiators, and messaging framework
o Understand competitive landscape to properly position and differentiate VMware’s products/ suites/solutions
o Provide updates on Corporate and regional marketing initiatives
o Provide region and corporate marketing feedback on messaging effectiveness with customers and to ensure ongoing relevancy
 Support global contact acquisition strategies in support of BU, Global and Regional objectives

Qualifications
• 10 to 15+ Years Solution/Product marketing experience, preferably in large, fast-paced high tech company or agency with high tech client work.
• Proven track record delivering innovative, creative and integrated marketing plans that increase awareness, and drive demand generation. Demonstrated experience reporting on plan results to executives and line-of-business stakeholders.
• Experience working with multiple marketing disciplines and with multiple geographies.
• Proven experience with developing content for different marketing mediums (campaigns, social media, collateral, etc)
• Experience managing third party vendors
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once, set priorities, work independently, problem solve, improvise, and function as part of a team that often must perform under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and work across organizational boundaries and broad range of peers and executives
• Experience fostering collaboration and teamwork across cross-functional teams that are not under direct control
• Superior communications skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to a dynamic business with changing needs and priorities.
• Willing to travel (<25%)>
