We’re looking for a collaborative, strategic Engagement Director to increase our sustainability and help to set new standards.
Engage our business in environmental responsibility
• Develop a program that helps us understand the needs and challenges of customers, consumers and shoppers in relation to sustainability
• Use insights to influence the environmental responsibility agenda and develop a coherent communication plan
• Understand environmental legislation and help to create innovative, forward-thinking responses
• Work collaboratively to gain buy-in at all levels for approaches to sustainability, aiming to be ahead of future customer and consumer needs
• Be the go-to contact on environmental responsibility for our Americas and Asia-Pacific markets, helping to coordinate local initiatives where required

You’ll also own the customer, consumer and shopper-focused environmental responsibility agenda, with particular focus on sustainable materials and renewable energy. Engage people at all levels of our business, as well as key customers globally with forward thinking innovation and a commercial mind-set. The role is based in Enfield, Connecticut but we will consider London, England as the base location for an exceptional candidate.
What you’ll need:

• At least four years’ experience in implementing customer, consumer and shopper-led sustainability strategies, ideally within a global FMCG company
• Substantial experience of stakeholder management, which should include engaging with retailers, industry partners and legislators
• Broad understanding of corporate social responsibility within a business-to-business or business-to-customer context
• Qualification in sustainability or corporate social responsibility at a graduate or postgraduate level
• Willingness to travel, nationally and internationally approximately 35 days per year
• Fluency in English
• Degree in engineering, business or sustainability/CSR
