Reporting to the Vice President, Contracting Services, the Director, Support Services Contracting will have detailed, hands-on knowledge of facility support and construction-related services, products and equipment. The Director will have the ability to negotiate contracts and provide contract guidance to members through implementation and identification of available and best priced contracts.

Identify suppliers of facility support services (environmental, engineering, sterile processing and logistics), as well as construction-related services, products and equipment.
Conduct full lifecycle contracting from drafting to implementation, including negotiation of value proposition and alignment of the supplier with our national Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) model.
Analyze GPO contracts in this area and identify opportunities for increasing value through regional enhancements and market share growth.
Identify new categories and initiatives that represent gaps in national GPO portfolios that may provide member savings and participation.
Develop appropriate contract launch and promotion materials needed to support executed contract initiatives in facilities, construction and support areas.
Participate in client field staff training and presentations to ensure that member support staff understands these agreements.
Plan and develop presentation materials for site visits to member facilities to introduce the program to appropriate member users of these products and services.
Act as the product and services liaison between all stakeholders in order to interpret and maximize the value of the contracting services portfolio.
Develop strategies around introducing new technology, products, and services to GNYHA's portfolio.
Develop opportunities for improving utilization of support services product/services contracts among GNYHA members.
Prepare materials for and facilitate member meetings , including formation of a member task force of subject matter experts.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
3+ years’ contracting experience commensurate with facility engineering director, private contracting business owner, project or purchasing manager for a large construction company. Experience with and responsibility for hospital engineering operations and procurement within a facility preferred.
Strong facility and engineering product and services familiarity; familiarity with supplier relationships in several major support services and facility specialties.
Experience in analyzing, devising negotiation strategies, and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
Strong relationship skills and ability to interface with all levels of management.
Strong communication, customer service and presentation skills.
Purchase experience in negotiating supplies, trades, capital and rental agreements preferred.
Strong process development, documentation, and organizational skills.
Solid knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
