As the Senior Director of Instructor Operations, you will lead an incredibly talented team and have the opportunity to have a tremendous impact on both Udemy instructors and students. You will be responsible for improving the instructor experience as well as the quality of the courses they produce, two key drivers of the Udemy business.
What you’ll do:
Develop a deep and passionate understanding of instructor usage, behaviors, and needs as well as student expectations related to course quality;
Be a super user of Udemy’s product in order to be an effective and relentless internal advocate for Udemy’s customers;
Partner with the existing teams to develop the strategy to improve course quality, the instructor experience and instructor communications;
Be accountable for the execution of the strategy and for material improvements in course quality and instructor engagement;
Partner with the existing teams to define the instructor and quality product roadmap and collaborate closely with the Product team to facilitate its prioritization;
Advocate for Instructor Engagement and Course Quality internally to get appropriate resources from various teams internally;
Lead 3 teams (~15 people today) focused on Trust & Safety, Quality Review, Account Management, Community Management, Instructor Marketing, and Instructor Communications;
Continue building the organization as customer needs evolve and the business scales
What you’ll need

· Exceptional analytical and strategic skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems
· A successful track record in addressing customer needs and building/growing businesses in an operating role
· The ability and desire to get things done by constantly moving back-and-forth between strategy and scrappy execution
· A strong appetite for taking risks, failing and moving fast
· Excellent collaboration, leadership, and written and oral communication skills
· An extraordinary ability to lead large teams and lead cross-functionally
· 10+ experience at a top consulting firm AND in operating roles, with ideally experience in a startup
· A point of view on the role of online learning in the world
