This position is responsible for directing the student academic and support services operations within the School of Cinematic Arts (SCA). This position reports to the Dean of Student Services at the school.
The Director of SCA Student Affairs is responsible for managing the day-to-day advisement, scholarships, and support activities for all undergraduate and some graduate students within SCA. This position manages two full-time advisors, one scholarship coordinator, and related staff. A significant component of this position is assisting in the monitoring of retention activities. This position serves as one of the primary points of contact on undergraduate issues for a variety of offices across campus including the Registrar’s office, Academic Review, Provost Undergraduate Program office, Academic Support Services, Financial Aid, etc.

Responsibilities include :

Oversight of the development and management of orientation programs for SCA undergraduate and graduate students.
Advisement and monitoring of at-risk students within the SCA. These include working with advisement and student support staff in identifying and working with students who are on academic probation and/or students who are in crisis and who are at risk of not continuing their degrees.
Management of all databases related to scholarships, advisement and enrollment issues.
Assisting with and monitoring the enrollment management of key courses for undergraduate students. This includes monitoring enrollment and being cognizant of upcoming enrollment trends for future semesters.
Serve on the SCA Curriculum Committee in reviewing changes to the undergraduate curriculum for overall impact on the various degree programs.
Coordination and oversight of monthly departmental advisor meetings to insure there is consistency across the various departments within the school.
Serves as the SCA School representative on various university committees, including the Student Affairs Council and the Orientation Steering Committee.
Assists all SCA departments with graduate student academic support, as needed.
Assist the Dean of Students as needed in strategic goal-setting and program/process development. Maintains professional and current knowledge as it relates to advisement issues and college student development issues to improve practices within the School.
Developes and executes new processes and procedures which stream line academic enrollment, registration and advising.
Other duties as assigned.

Master’s degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
