The Project Proposals team is responsible for the coordination of project development and proposal documents covering scope, schedule, design, energy production, and price breakdowns of solar and wind power installations. The Director, Project Proposals integrates technical and commercial inputs from the multi-disciplinary project team, from early stage site evaluation to completion of development, bidding, acquisition, financing due diligence, and contract negotiations.

Oversees and manages the team developing proposals for multiple business units within the Renewables business unit, including support for requests for information, questionnaires, proposals and quotes
Collaborates with multi-disciplinary response team (business development, sales, marketing, legal, regulatory and government affairs, environmental, engineering, construction and other groups as necessary) to develop customized responses to solicitations.
Reviews, analyzes, assesses, and summarizes solicitation requirements, in order to craft benefit-oriented and compelling responses to solicitations, and to ensure solicitation responses are in compliance with all requestor instructions, timeliness, and approval protocols.
Defines and documents the project’s functional and spatial requirements and synthesizes project design, logistical, performance, schedule, and cost information
Leads the interface across departments and suppliers to coordinate proposal activities
Manages the proposal process in a matrixed environment completely through to submittal and supporting resulting contract negotiations and completing post bid analysis
Meets with external customers to discuss design options, address concerns, and support contract negotiations
Represents NRG in development, permitting, marketing, and bid review meetings on project issues, including meetings with the public and regulatory authorities.
Supports strategic discussions and manages proposal-related activities for opportunities in the pipeline in advance of proposal execution
Defines and maintains standard proposal requirements and templates
Maintains the archive of all proposals and supporting documents in a well-structured manner accessible by members of other departments
Manages, mentors and develops direct reports
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements:
BS in Engineering or related field, MBA highly desired.
10+ years of applicable experience, with 5 or more directly related to solar and wind power project development.
Project Management Professional or similar certification highly desired.
Proficiency with computer software programs (i.e., e-mail, spreadsheets and project management applications).
Team player, creative thinker with initiative, strong research and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organization skills.
