The Director of PR, Social, and Brand Marketing will define our reputation in the public sphere driving all outreach through PR, AR, blogs, contributed articles, and social both in North America and Internationally. You’ll create the buzz for everything we are doing – from campaigns, to events, to customer and company news. This position is the vital link between everything we are doing and the audience for our messages and content. This position is based in our headquarters in San Bruno, California and reports directly to the CMO, but you will work closely with the CEO and our other thought leaders to evangelize them, Nomis, and the stories they want to get in front of our stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Writing/Messaging: You will personally write excellent press releases that require little edit because you got to the heart of the story. You’ll also net out key company themes and news in blog posts and interview thought leaders so you can write contributed articles.
Press Relations: You will be the main company point person with press. You will pitch industry journalists and bloggers you know and develop new contacts to engage with directly. If agencies are used outside of North America, you will manage these agencies.
Analyst Relations: You will develop a program to identify and influence analysts. You’ll get Nomis noticed by briefing them frequently with key value points that give them great insight to feed to their audiences. Your goal is to get positive written or recorded content created by the analyst community without having to “pay to play.”
Industry Participation: You will drive all of our industry participation from speaking opportunities to awards and will constantly be surfacing new opportunities for Nomis to participate to get our story out.
Social: You’ll build up a company program to consistently contribute to all of our social channels and you will constantly run social campaigns yourself and promote our events, news, and campaigns across all channels.
Retargeting & SEM: Your will drive all of our retargeting to get specific storylines and promotions out to our audience.
SEO: You will drive SEO for Nomis leveraging tools, outside contractors to ensure Nomis is organically ranking for the keywords we care about.
Research: You will drive all research through Nomis, its partners, and third parties to develop newsworthy insights that we can feed through storylines we are pursuing.
Video: You’ll be responsible for regularly filming our thought leaders, working with creative to get these videos edited to a compelling result, and promote these storylines.
Desired Skills and Experience
Years of Experience: 7+ years of experience PR and/or marketing communications experience. At least 3 years of experiences in bank or Fintech PR with an appropriate rolodex of contacts commensurate with your experience.
New Generating Experience: A proven track record of generating news where there was no compelling event in the timeline and no customer willing to speak on a given topic.
Experienced Moderator: Proven experience moderating a group of bloggers, Linkedin group participation, etc.
New Media/Web 2.0 Skills/Computer Skills: Able to use latest technology to create compelling content that can be published via social media channels including blogs, video, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, forums, wikis and social networks. Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Google apps.
Cross-Functional Management and Influencing Skills: Ability to credibly influence and manage across, and up and down functions is vital. You will be the main point person for our thought leaders and need to have credible experience working with an executive audience. You’ll have proven examples of driving a diverse audience who do not understand PR or brand to continuous results.
Multi-Tasking, Organization and Presentation Skills: Ability to be organized and keep lots of diverse activities moving forward at the same time. Exceptional presentation skills. Strong presence with executive audiences.
Travel: 10-15% travel to events, meetings.
