The Director of Global Services Communication position will support the development, execution and measurement of a multi-stakeholder global communications strategy and plan for Johnson & Johnson Global Services.
The J&J Global Services Communication Leader is responsible for:
Shaping and executing the communication and engagement plan for Johnson & Johnson Global Services, a multi-functional global organization that will deliver end-to-end processes and systems to businesses across the enterprise.
This role will provide communication support to Erin Champlin, Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Global Services, and her executive leadership team in the expansion of the organization and its service infrastructure in North America, Asia Pacific, EMEA and Latin America.
This is a highly visible role that will serve as a key contributor to delivering positive outcomes for Johnson & Johnson Global Services. The Global Communications Director will work collaboratively on a global scale and across multiple regions to lead and develop communications teams.
This role requires strong collaboration and influencing skills, solid communication expertise, and proven experience in the areas of employee engagement, change management and issues management.
The individual must demonstrate a strong ability to influence and work successfully in a matrix environment.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for developing and executing the Global Services communication strategy and plans that drives Johnson & Johnson revenue, growth, valuation and reputation. Provides counsel to business leaders to,
Drive business objectives of Enterprise, functions and businesses
Build stakeholder trust and advocacy
Inspire employee advocacy
RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions)
Develop and execute strategic Global Services communication plan and narrative to drive highest communication impact that links our business priorities and drives our reputation, including analysis of stakeholders, annual plan and metrics.
Lead and manage a team of communication professionals to drive the strategy and execution.
Provide strategic counseling, common processes and resources needed to advise Global Services communication leaders in driving engagement and shaping the dialogue as a competitive advantage/critical partner.
Ensures alignment in communication’s scope of services to Global Services and enable increased collaboration and knowledge sharing across the functional communication team.
Lead executive communication to include key messaging as well as internal and external engagements.
Connect and collaborate with Enterprise network, Workforce Communications and Business Segment communicators to shape messaging and engagement that showcase the functions as innovators internally and externally.
Incorporate innovative and leading class communication practices into the Global Services communication strategy to enable business leaders to “up their communications game”.
Develop and manage ongoing Global Services communication content and curation.
Shape the end-to-end cross-functional strategy, dialogue, and messaging across Global Services to create and define the function in the world – driving consistent language around our reputational drivers.
Drive communication plan to drive growth of an engaged culture of collaboration, accountability, customer focus that is aligned to the business priorities.
Serve as active member of aligned segment(s)’: Global Services Leadership team(s) and Functional Communication Leaders team.
Interface with and appropriately leverage J&J Communications Centers of Excellence: Workforce Communications, Media Relations and Strategic Insights.
Qualifications
Education and/or additional training: BA required; Advanced degree preferred.
Experience and functional competencies:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in communication or related field
Deep business acumen and understanding of enterprise strategy
Global mindset
Demonstrated ability to craft compelling stories, with superior written, oral and visual communication abilities
Experience working in a collaborative matrix environment
Demonstrated ability to think strategically
Demonstred ability to manage complexity and multiple priorities
Deep understanding of digital and social platforms
