Akamai’s customers deliver the most sophisticated and engaging experiences on the Internet. Our Global Digital Marketing Director is responsible for creating a web presence and digital marketing strategy that engages and inspires them. This person will transform Akamai’s web presence into an engine for attracting interest and driving lead generation worldwide, via external websites, social channels, SEM/SEO, and display advertising. This is a strategic and operational role, overseeing the development, execution, testing, and optimization of digital strategies, investments and initiatives.
This role is perfect for someone who connects the dots, balances multiple stakeholders, customer segments and types, and can strategically as well as creatively deliver experiences that delight and convert visitors into prospects.

This individual will evangelize, drive, and lead digital transformation at Akamai. They will develop, implement, and manage a clear, simplified engagement model for cross-functional marketing teams to activate buyer-focused digital programs, including local web, social, and search marketing channels.

The person in this role will lead the digital marketing team and be accountable for the inbound conversion funnel, from search optimization and driving integrated digital programs that attract and engage prospects to enhancing the user experience and increasing conversion rates.

The Director of Digital Marketing reports to the Vice President of Global Marketing Communications within the Global Marketing Organization. This team drives the global brand and campaign strategy, provides creative and localization services for the enterprise, and is focused on digital transformation and marketing enablement. There are 4 groups within the Global Marketing Communications team including: Unified Campaigns and Enablement, Digital Marketing, Creative Agency and Web Services, and Localization Services.

Responsibilities:

* Plan and execute the global digital marketing strategy to support the GTM plan and company initiatives.
* Lead, recruit, motivate, and mentor a team of digital experts to drive the inbound marketing function, including web optimization, SEO, display, paid search, and social media.
* Agency management, budget allocation, and end-to-end accountability for website and digital program performance, analysis, and reporting.
* Build strong trust and productive working relationships across the organization and lead cross-divisional teams to ensure the successful delivery of digital programs.
* Cultivate and contribute to marketing maturity and innovation via digital evangelism and ongoing cross-team digital educational and best-practice sharing programs.
* Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for Akamai.com, our primary marketing vehicle for brand awareness and lead generation, and to continue to extend our digital presence regionally/globally.
* Develop a plan for digital KPIs in collaboration with Marketing teams and aligned to the global GTM.
* Monitor and analyze web activities to inform strategic and tactical improvements to digital/web properties and programs.
* Operationalize the global web marketing and SEO/SEM strategies to increase volume and quality of visitors, improve content engagement, and accelerate conversions of visitors to leads.
* Partner with the Marketo and Creative teams on digital best practices spanning UX/UI, new capabilities, privacy laws and regulations, and digital strategy compliance.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience in marketing strategy and execution in a corporate, B2B, or B2C environment.
* 12+ years of Demand Generation Marketing Experience.
* 7+ years of Digital and Web Marketing Experience.
* Has built and maintained multiple complex global web properties and proven ability to grow traffic.
* Experience with Marketing Automation Systems, Content Management Systems, RWD, Mobile Technology.
