We are seeking a Director to manage the Energy Consulting Business group. This position is the leader of the group and will be responsible for the sales, project delivery and service offering management for a variety of strategic planning, risk, commercial, technical and market advisory services including P&L management for an Americas focused energy consulting practice. This position is located in Fairfax, Virginia.
Position Responsibilities

• Manage the sales process and consulting account management program, and provide leadership through best in class sales and account management approaches with the strategic accounts.

• Drive and manage the strategy around all of services in the Infrastructure Development, Strategic Planning, Risk Management, Transaction Advisory and Market Advisory service lines. This includes the evolution of the offerings to keep them best in class as well as the development introduction of new consulting offerings. Leads development of integrated offerings with PTI’s Power Systems Consulting and Software business.

• Recruit experts with consulting experience in the utility, independent power, heavy industry verticals to expand the capacity of the organization. Oversee staff development processes and execution of associated activities.


• With the support from the Finance and Business Administration partner, manage and report out on the P&L for the Energy Strategy Consulting practice including orders, revenue, sales and G&A costs along with profits. Develop annual budgets and associated business plan. Report out to US and Global headquarters on a monthly basis.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• 10 + years of consulting sales management experience and demonstrated ability to individually sell with a focus in the electric utility and independent power market verticals.
• MBA or Masters in Business, Economics or Technical Discipline
• Experience required in the following areas of business transformation strategy, energy infrastructure finance and development, power and energy market analysis, energy asset/infrastructure valuation and forecasting
• Management of a multidiscipline staff of sales and delivery resources and a consulting P&L in excess of $5M/year of revenue
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork, expresses ideas in a clear and concise manner, both in written and oral communications
• Identifies issues and problems, secures relevant information, considers alternative courses of action and makes good business decisions
• Sees change in the business or work environment, understands implications and adjusts priorities as needed on short notice.
• Has the ability to travel domestic and internationally.
