Job Description:
Responsible for developing and implementing tax systems, policies, methods and procedures to compile information for various federal and international reports for a business unit, subsidiary, or department.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
· Ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
Recommends ways to minimize corporate tax through use of tax laws and regulations.
· May administer international tax laws and regulations.
· Establishes operational objectives and assignments and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation.
· Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies which affect immediate operations and may also have companywide effect. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delays in schedules and or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.
· Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods and employees.
Education: Bachelors or Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Typically requires 10 or more years of experience and at least two years of management responsibility.
Supervisory: Yes.
