Job Description:
The Director of Strategy & Innovation leads the development and implementation of total company strategy to grow BSRO. This person directs overall strategy, innovation and competitive positioning.
The Director leads, directs and coaches cross-functional teams to define the strategy, stakeholder benefits and execute/implement plans while identifying gaps between current day "as is" and the future "to be" states. Based on knowledge of enterprise-wide alignment and synergies as well as the competitive landscape, this position will lead to driving change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Manage the strategic roadmap for the organization which provides a consistent, methodical approach to execute upon the BSRO strategic purpose in becoming the most trusted provider of automotive care in every neighborhood we serve. This includes refining and updating strategies to accelerate the growth of our business and deliver upon the company purpose and overall vision.
Monitor external influences and industry landscape for new opportunities and input into refining BSRO strategy.
Engage and collaborate with internal leadership, stakeholders and external strategists to lead the evaluation of current and develop new strategic management initiatives.
Create strategic plans for sustainable growth strategies: sales, profit and ROA.
Establish a clear case for change and ensure the right initiatives are undertaken.
Direct, support and coach initiatives teams by providing leadership, advice and counsel.
Define expected deliverables and necessary timing in a complex environment to build trust within and outside of the business.
Support effective, day-to-day integrated and aligned decision making among leadership and supporting functions (legal, finance, human resources, operations, B2B sales, etc.)
Direct initiatives and additional accountabilities include:
BSRO strategic lead & catalyst for all innovation activities including telematics and emerging technologies / business models.
Manages monthly BSAM staff meeting preparations and activities.
Manages quarterly strategic leadership meeting activities.
Manages biweekly leadership meetings.
Directs activities, functions and meetings requested by other SBUs supporting high level of teamwork and fostering collaboration between BSRO and other BSAM groups.
Participates in industry events, conferences and collaborate with external organizations and partners to build relationships and discover new growth opportunities.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
MBA and/or consulting background highly preferred.
Total professional experience of seven to ten years or more.
Previous experience working in a matrix environment is desirable.
Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present recommendations and summarize complex issues.
Demonstrate both creative and critical thinking skills.
Solid strategic planning experience at either a divisional or corporate level.
Demonstrated superior business process and financial analysis skills.
Proven experience handling multiple duties and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
Demonstrated strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Proven experience challenging the status quo and championing new initiatives.
Experience acting as a catalyst for change and stimulating others to change.
Demonstrated ability to identify, plan and deliver significant process improvements with major financial impact.
Has broad knowledge and perspective of the business & industry; pieces together seemingly unrelated data to identify a flow and logical strategy.
Values and harnesses team diversity; reframes problems in a different light to find fresh approaches; evaluates wide-ranging possibilities others may miss; takes advantage of difficult or unusual situations to develop unique approaches and useful solutions.
Must display initiative, set challenging project goals, and link those goals to the needs of the customers (BOSS), departments, and organization.
This position is highly interactive with Senior Leadership and must be able to establish a culture of trust and maintain relationships based on trust.
