Job Description:
We are looking for an engineering leader for the Experimentation Platform. Experimentation is widely recognized across eBay as the authoritative, friction-free method for proving business and customer value of our products and iterating to the best possible user experience for eBay.

This leader will accelerate eBay’s pace of innovation in the experimentation platform, eliminate frictions to run experiments, improve data quality and confidence in experimentation results. This leader will need to partner across Engineering, Product, Program Management and Analytics.
We are looking for bright and self-motivated leaders, with superb management and technical leadership qualities along with excellent computer science fundamentals, responsible for developing and delivering frameworks, tools, services, and building and/or leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

The candidate should have deep expertise in Experimentation and have experience managing multiple engineering teams delivering complex engineering products and services.

Job Requirements:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set clear direction and delegation to ensure strong execution of strategic and tactical plans
Relentlessly manage priorities, address talent gaps and create an open, innovative culture that blends well with the daily execution
Architect and deliver a strong development process that ensures high quality and business agility
Lead one or more development teams designing and implementing new functionality, as well as improving existing product features
Develop and manage relationships with leadership, product, project management, quality, analytics counterparts
Own scheduling and on-time delivery of features and roadmap throughout the software development lifecycle
Work across platform, operations, and development teams to deliver highly scalable and reliable software services and high quality experimentation results
Provide timely and appropriate communication to stakeholders, and customers on issue status and resolution
Recruit, develop, manage and retain great talent - coach on career development, provide an open and honest culture/feedback, and inspire by providing the right level of support and challenges
Be a thought leader through initiating bold changes, idea generation, and clear understanding of ROI of various initiatives and projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

10 or more years of leadership / people management experience in managing and developing highly technical teams of developers
Experience in managing experimentation or A/B testing platform products and programs
Hands-on approach to data analysis, with attention to detail and quality
Strong track record for delivering innovative, successful products and services on time, on function, and on budget
Agile, proactive and comfortable in working with ambiguous specifications and ability to adapt and drive rapid changes in product direction
Excellent prioritization skills in the face of competing business demands, particularly in balancing short-term tactical and operational projects with delivering on a longer-term vision
Ability to quickly gain the technical and leadership respect of your team and peers
Effective team player working closely with both his team as well as other leaders in the organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as receptive listening skills, with the ability to tailor complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to various levels of technical and non-technical management
Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
Ability to be a “high level thinker” looking at the larger picture and bring new innovations and development approaches to the organization
EDUCATION:

Master in CS degree (M.Sc.) or equivalent
10+ years related experience
