Job Description:
Lead talented group of engineers to deliver exceptional results by focusing efforts and enabling the team to succeed and deliver high quality software applications
Execution / Results Orientation: The candidate will have a clear track record of leading successful systems software development organizations and making timely and well-informed investment and product portfolio management decisions in the context of a rapidly evolving technology sector.
The candidate must have a track record of delivering full systems, inclusive of product roadmap development, organizational buy-in and alignment which maps to business intent. Evidence of this orientation will include notable product successes in the marketplace, having taken prior calculated risks in product direction and development that proved to be prescient moves, reducing the cost basis of key technologies, and the delivery of key product releases within challenging timeframes.

Team-Building Skills: The candidate will possess a leadership style that focuses on developing great senior leaders and teams and motivating and leading people to achieve stretch goals and difficult challenges often in the context of complexity and ambiguity. Evidence of these leadership traits will be evidenced in the quality of prior teams that the individual pulled together that are recognized for what they achieved and were characterized by a high level of motivation, further evidence will also include the recruiting and development of individuals and direct reports that have gone on to achieve notable success in their own careers.

Collaboration Skills: The candidate’s operating style will be characterized by an emphasis on collaboration and working through other internal and external organizations and individuals to achieve success – particularly in the context of a complex and global organization. Evidence of these skills will include examples of business and product success that required the coordination of numerous parties for which the individual did not have direct control and had to lead through influence and gaining buy-in.

Works closely with product management, business development, and customers to develop, refine, validate, and prioritize product requirements / roadmaps. Balances the execution required to meet schedule commitments and deliver high quality with the collaboration required to design innovative products that suit specific customer needs and yield increased results for Cisco.

Learn: Demands the up-to-date technical expertise required to develop and enhance cutting-edge technologies that drive Cisco’s business and market position forward. Displays a depth of expertise in networking technology and the highest technical competence. Identifies, attracts, develops, and retains a best-in-class product development organization resulting in innovation and production advantages for Cisco.

Execute: Drives team to develop high-quality products on schedule that meet customer needs, align with enterprise goals, and drive revenue growth and profitability. Designs and implements a comprehensive development strategy for the complete lifecycle of products under span of responsibility using current and projected customer needs, competitive / market gap analysis, and product lifecycle management to drive decisions. Expedites the resolution of key business issues likely to impact product release schedules, product requirements, product quality, and business operations. Effectively and efficiently manages architecture, hardware, software, test, system integration, and sustaining engineering.

Accelerate: Deciphers how to best translate technologies into successful commercial products. Engages and energizes team by communicating these ideas clearly and in a manner that compels action and results. Determines strategic trade-offs in make-buy-partner technology decisions. Displays strong interpersonal communication skills and an ability to effectively manage very large and complex organizations; however dynamic presentation skills are not necessary. Shapes strategic technology portfolio with focus on investments that drive Cisco’s competitive advantage.

Disrupt: Continually strives to set Cisco apart in the global marketplace by pursuing disruptive innovation as well as driving incremental change to capture opportunities during key market transitions. Drives innovation by developing and protecting intellectual property; files many patents. Implements enhanced product development processes that shorten release cycles for new products.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires MSEE/CS combined plus 15+ years of related architecture and engineering leadership experience.
Requires 10+ years of Management experience
Detailed oriented nature, with a can-do attitude.
Strong technical knowledge in Web application development
Knowledge in Server Domain an advantage

Desired Skills
Software development in Java
UI/UX design and implementation
Experience in one or more Datacenter technologies (Virtualization, Compute, Storage, Networking)
