Job Description:
We’re looking for a hands-on engineering leader to build a world-class data team of engineers and data scientists. The team is responsible for creating the data capabilities that gather insights into product, growth and monetization opportunities and ultimately help us build better product. You will partner with the leaders in: engineering, product, business, research and finance teams to champion the use of data to make smarter and more informed decisions.
Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an lean start-up environment
Recruit and build a world class team of software engineers, data engineers and data scientists.
Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team driving customer focused business outcomes in your area of ownership.
Heavily involved in product development and execution
Who we’re looking for:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Experience designing and developing large scale data pipelines and real-time analysis platforms
Strong technical credentials, with at least 5 years experience managing software development teams, with hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
Development expertise in: OOP, Java, Hadoop, Spark
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders
