Director Global Revenue Uber San Francisco

Job Description:
The Director of Global Revenue is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Company’s worldwide revenue recognition policies as well as the operational accounting processes associated with revenue. The ideal candidate will be strategic yet hands on, having experience in a similar role in high growth multinational organizations consisting of multiple lines of business. This person is a seasoned leader, and developer of people, processes and technology. The role reports to the Chief Accountant and Global Controller.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Develop and manage the roadmap for revenue accounting and help create solutions to support a world class revenue close via systems automation, local team support and a shared services model.
Consult with and advise senior leadership, product, operations and G&A counterparts on revenue recognition and the impact on new and existing business models.
Develop and refine internal controls for revenue processes to ensure compliance and financial statement accuracy. Work with internal audit to ensure efficiency in the design of controls.
Manage the external audit for revenue and related areas and work directly with external auditors on all technical matters.
Improve existing reporting and analysis to support both internal and external requirements. Provide reporting that provides insights to the business.
Implement and maintain global revenue and accounts receivable policies for Uber’s multiple lines of business worldwide.
Evaluate and present the potential impact of proposed technical revenue accounting guidance on the Company’s financials, including but not limited to ASC606, to the Company’s controller and senior leadership team.
Be forward thinking, develop a strategy to support the growth of the business; ensure hiring and prioritization of revenue projects to align with the company’s goals.
Lead the global revenue accounting team providing coaching and development of team members.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
CPA or Masters degree in the relevant field
13+ years of accounting or finance experience including 3+ at a public company 5+ years in a management role and commensurate role
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, high-growth environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives
Advanced understanding of technical revenue recognition
Strong understanding of process development and financial systems
Strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to build relationships
