Senior Director Associate Relations ADP Roseland

Job Description:
The Associate Relations (Employee Relations) COE is responsible for building associate relations capabilities and enabling management effectiveness through the execution of proactive associate relations initiatives. The COE is also responsible for establishing and managing a consistent process for and investigating and resolving associate complaints and conflicts and conducting all investigations.
This leader will be responsible for a team of ER Managers who are investigating and resolving associate complaints and conflicts, working with HR Business Partners and Managers to administer the Corrective Action Process and leading investigations.

The Regional Leader will manage a team (North America leader will have 7-8 direct reports) of Associate Relations Specialists / Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Build and implement the structure and practices of the AR function including establishing and managing the investigations process, documentation protocol, prioritization and assignment of associate related issues, and working with HRBPs and leaders on remediation and follow up on all issues.

* Provide direction and leadership to the associate relations managers, ensuring case management, service delivery and documentation requirements are met by the team.

* Manage a team of geographically distributed associates; includes staffing, performance management and ongoing development. Educate, advise and consult with ER Managers to build capacity and strengthen consulting skills.

* Partner with Legal counsel, Risk, GSO, IT to manage escalated associate relations issues; monitor activities and outcomes to ensure fair and consistent application of policy and treatment of associates.

* Establish and provide ongoing reporting on associate relations trends within the company, diagnose challenges and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and partner with team to implement changes. (10%)

* Protects the balance of interests of both associates and ADP in accordance with HR policies, governmental laws and regulations.

* Provides consultation, guidance and coaching for complex, sensitive and high risk associate relations matters.

* Oversees operations delivery, metrics and analysis for the function. (5%)

Key Competencies

* Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to employee relations and legal obligations of employer/associate relations for the region. Demonstrated expertise with regional (US /Canada or EMEA or LATAM or APAC) employee relations rules and regulations required, global experience is a plus.

* Seasoned and proven skills in managing difficult ER situations, Conflict Management, employment law, influence skills.

* Organizational skills; ability to set priorities for self and team

* Consultative skills; the ability to coach and develop professionals

* Interpersonal skills, ability to give and receive constructive feedback, ability to interact and partner with people at all levels including Executives.

* Ability to work comfortably across organizational boundaries, and quickly gain the credibility and respect of associates at multiple levels.

* Ability to lead and manage a team of geographically distributed associates; be highly team-oriented, willing to lead change for the betterment of the function / ADP.

Experience and Qualifications

* The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Human Resources or related field; and 7 years of HR Leadership accountability, with a focus on Employee Relations.

* Three years of direct Employee Relations experience and evidence of interaction and influence with management

* Candidate should demonstrate subject matter expertise in regulatory areas, demonstrated knowledge of employment law across North America.
