Director RSA Engineering EMC Boston

Job Description:
As a leader within the RSA Via Engineering organization, we are seeking a hands-on Director of Engineering to work in our Bedford MA office leading the Via Lifecycle & Governance engineering team. A core focus of this opportunity is to gain alignment in development and release cycles with the other Via product lines and to holistically incorporate customer features, functionalities and use-case feedback into the next-gen development cycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering team in planning for and delivering all product release efforts including major releases, minor releases, and patches.
Drive a culture of customer success by delivering a high quality, highly usable product that customers can deploy to meet their identity lifecycle and governance needs.
Work with senior technical staff, product management and select customers[E1] to define the roadmap for the products with the focus being on translating product requirements and customer insights into actionable development plans.
Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to challenging technical problems
Mentor team members and provide technical and managerial guidance
Coordinate with and influence cross-functional teams across the global organization

Key Qualifications and Skills:
With recognized people leadership, product development and QE expertise, we seek a proven, hands-on software engineering leader who has exceptional relationship development skills coupled with a history of productizing software solutions on time and within budget. Additionally, we require:
A minimum of 6 years managing high performing engineering teams, applying a balanced focuse on next-gen features development with sustaining engineering. Experience needs to include working with distributed and remote teams. Experience working on large scale enterprise applications necessary.
A hands-on “drive-for-results” and “collaboration” technical leadership style coupled with true passion for designing solutions based on customer feedback and insights.
Highly effective interpersonal, written and verbal skills which allow you to influence and interact with confidence and credibility at all levels within the EMC Federation [E2] of companies, customers, partners and vendors.

Key Qualifications and Skills continued:
Must have deep experience and desire leading innovative technical teams, including building, motivating and performance-managing teams. Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative technical solutions to difficult problems
Ability to be a change agent, identify problems and fix them be they people, process, or technical in nature
Passion to deliver great solutions and a great customer experience is a must
Bachelor’s degree required; MS degree desired.
