Job Description:
The Director Production is responsible for the daily operation and transition of assigned events, from the planning stage, setup, installation and day of event execution of sports events, concerts, entertainment events, special events and other functions within the Arena, the Theatre, and all other space within the Complex, including external activations on the street, and within Chase Square, Club Bar & Grill, Delta Club, Suite 1879 and Suite 200 as well as other space as required to meet the needs of an event. The position manages the operational execution of NY Rangers Home games including all preliminary and post-game on ice activities as well as standalone on- ice events.
The Director Event Production is responsible for visiting hockey team move in and morning skate requirements. In addition most Press Conferences, outdoor & indoor Public Relations/Marketing/Sponsorship stunts and activities, movie shoots, commercial shoots, photo shoots, job fairs, employee meetings and other internal and external activities not directly associated with a single event will be supervised by the Director. The Director serves as the Event Manager on duty for internal and external clients to help provide a seamless workflow experience.

The position collaborates with internal and external clients to minimize expenses and maximize budgeted results while maintaining optimal operating efficiency. The Director Production schedules the union and non-union event production workforce and manages the appropriate staffing levels based on the scope of every event.

The Director Production is responsible for all aspects of the event, including producing on sale AutoCAD drawing, generating accurate seating kills for box office, hosting client production meetings; walk through meetings and internal planning meetings for each event. Collating production information an communicating event requirements to all internal and external stakeholders. Reviewing and approving final estimated costs, tracking actual costs against budget, review an approval of payroll of for the vent, and providing accurate information for event settlement, and post event reconciliation.

The Director Production will have a minimum seven years of Sports Event Production and Facility Management experience dealing with multiple events in a time sensitive environment required. The Director Production will have progressive experience in Sports Event Production Management with direct responsibility for supervising and directing staffs across a wide-range of operating functions in a changing environment. Ability to demonstrate success in managing multiple tasks while under tight deadlines and financial constraints. Strong project management skills that promotes attention to detail. Leadership ability that can guide across multiple functions and labor groups. Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization. Ability to resolve conflicts. Commitment to providing a high quality service experience for both internal and external clients as well as guests. Ability to plan, analyze and control a budget and spending. Experience in supervising theatrical union crews and special events. NHL experience and general knowledge of sports or theatrical equipment and logistics required. Technical knowledge of rigging, electrical power and engineering is necessary in order to safely supervise an event. Knowledge of local public assembly and fire codes required. Working knowledge of vendors and suppliers a plus.
