Director Organic Marketing Yodle Austin

Job Description:
Yodle is seeking an experienced business leader with strong management, strategic and analytic skills to lead a 17-person Organic Consumer Marketing team with a heavy focus on SEO performance for our SMB clients.This role will be a key leader on the Consumer Marketing team that supports the overall mission t o connect local businesses with consumers so simply and cost-effectively that business owners can’t imagine any other way to advertise. The Consumer Marketing team is charged with continually improving our ability to cost-effectively deliver high quality consumer prospects to our Small Business customers .
This role is charged with understanding SEO and organic best practices in the marketplace, identifying and developing best practices unique to Yodle and our customers via insight, testing and analysis, and driving implementation across the organization. Overall, this role is responsible for ensuring that Yodle remains the best in class provider of services to our customers, and continues to improve over time.

Key areas include: owning and continually improving our website builds and optimization for Google and Bing search engines; developing new methods to drive SEO process automation and optimization and reducing the need for manual intervention in all of our processes; understanding the combined organic impact of SEO, reviews and social together, and leveraging that understanding as a competitive advantage; ensuring all team analysis and activities reflect rigorous analytic standards; creating communications to ensure transparency and clarity in all team activities.

This position works closely with many stakeholders including Product, Technology, Client Services, and Marketing.

Responsibilities:
Manage a team of marketing and analytic professionals, driving high employee satisfaction, and with a commitment to employee development and career growth
Develop and execute on a data and market-driven vision and strategy for the team and manage day-to-day execution of the team to support SEO & organic performance through innovation, testing & analysis and marketing operations. Specifically:
Work across teams to identify best opportunities to improve SEO & organic performance
Ensure team resources are prioritized based on projected value and strategic goals of projects
Own and improve on metrics and controls to ensure processes are running error-free
Optimize manual processes for SEO to best support our product performance vision, and partner with product and client services to ensure alignment with overall strategy
Identify and execute on opportunities for greater automation of manual work
Work with Product and Technology teams, and Partners (eg Google), to ensure compliance with any required changes and to identify new opportunities for exploration (eg. site structure, optimization opportunities and emerging technologies, etc.)
Own SEO performance for SMB clients and RateABiz reviews website.
Ensure rigorous metrics, reporting and analysis to monitor changes in performance, identify and fix relevant process/quality issues, and understand and respond to changes in Google and Bing Algorithms.
Leverage your SEO innovation and data science teams to evaluate, test and successfully identify new SEO & organic approaches to improve client performance
Support other strategic consumer marketing initiatives
Ensure tight co-ordination between paid and organic teams
Represent Organic consumer marketing & performance with senior internal and external partners.
Qualifications:
Significant experience hiring, leading and motivating a high-performance team, with high levels of employee satisfaction
Demonstrated ability to develop high potential employees to levels of increasing responsibility
Ability to balance sophisticated quantitative analysis with creative thinking and practical trade-offs to ensure team efforts drive business results in a strategic context. Ability to slice through data to focus on what’s important.
Superior analytical skills; creative problem solver, deep experience constructing tests that can drive ongoing improvements to performance
High integrity team player, who inspires others to perform at high levels, and has high potential to grow with increasing levels of responsibilities at Yodle
Strong influence management skills and a track record developing cross-functional partnerships that drive results
Excellent communication and cross-functional skills to support operating with transparency and clarity
Ideally, significant SEO knowledge.
Proven ability to work independently to remove obstacles and aggressively drive execution in tight time frames
Self-starter, with ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
5+ years of managing a sizeable direct report team
Significant experience in SEO/Organic search, and/or managing Marketing/Digital Operations teams preferred
MBA or Quantitative degree useful
