Director Distribution Center Operations Peet's Coffee Oakland

Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations, the Director of Distribution Center Operations is responsible for the overall leadership and day to day operation of Peet’s warehouse and distribution facility(s). Specific areas of responsibility include leading a successful team in all aspects of co-manufactured products, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and transportation management. This role is accountable for the development and achievement of monthly, annual and long term strategic plans as well as operational improvement initiatives related to the cost, efficiency, waste, quality, safety and environmental management of all warehouse, distribution and transportation operations.
Responsibilities :
Develop and implement strategies, processes, and programs to drive maximum quality and efficiency and to achieve the lowest cost of operation.
Collaborate with facility department leaders and their respective teams to achieve cost, quality, inventory measures, safety, customer satisfaction and people development objectives.
Manage, coach and develop direct reports and their respective teams to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets and ensure direct reports have appropriate information, tools, and resources needed to be accountable to their budgets.
Set targets and communicate business results and KPIs.
Champion the expanded use of technology and lean principles to improve planning, decision making, and execution.
Manage planning, justification, approval, and execution for investments in new equipment, systems, and facility layout changes.
Partner closely with colleagues on Product Supply Chain leadership team to deliver various business initiatives.
Work with all stakeholders to continuously improve performance through linking systems and people across the value chain.
Direct the co-manufacturing process
Direct the integration of co-manufactured goods into the inventory and fulfillment processes
Qualifications and Skills :
Strong team builder and coach with history of helping others achieve their potential.
Comprehensive understanding of key supply chain processes including planning, transportation, logistics, and quality management.
Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of financial data and planning.
Able to translate detailed data and observations into fact-based performance enhancing recommendations and effectively present to and gain buy in from management.
Ability to partner cross functionally to achieve desired results.
Proven success using metrics, productivity tracking and data collection systems to drive continuous performance improvement.
Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, change oriented environment.
Solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree required; certification in supply chain management preferred.
Senior management level experience in relevant supply chain management functions (multiple areas preferred) including at least 5 years in a fulfillment leadership role.
CPG products experience required with food and beverage background at a mid-to-large scale manufacturer strongly preferred.
Multi-channel distribution management experience required.
Multi-facility management experience.
Transportation management experience both LTL, FTL and Intermodal
Co-Manufacturing experience
