Senior Director Enterprise Product Development Semiconductor Samsung Electronics San Jose

Job Description:
Plans and directs business operational programs for the Sr. Director of the Enterprise Product Development team and his management teams. Responsible for the following operational initiatives:
Oversees the execution of EPD program initiatives.
Provides project management oversight (e.g. tracking deliverables, timelines and issues) to ensure alignment of objectives and deliverables.

Oversees management of headcount and budget tracking.

Collects, compiles and reports business operational communications for EPD Sr. Director, MSL SVP and Korea sponsors this includes developing and analyzing special reports, summarizing information, identifying trends.

Supervises an Admin Assistant and contract/consulting employees.

Liaison with other support groups including: Facilities, HR, IT, Procurement, Finance.

Creates technical collateral for external customer engagements.

Creates technical presentations



Desired Skills and Experience
BSEE with MSEE or MBA preferred

6 years’ experience in technical field (mass storage technology preferred) with 1 year project management.

Ability to assess technical project specifications, understand and explain technical requirements, make resource recommendations, engage in technical discussions regarding requirements and features. Report on project status and roadblocks.

Ability to translate technical requirements into technical specifications and resolve feature set trade-offs.

Ability to drive decisions within cross-functional teams.

Ability to oversee and run scrum meetings, understand agile processes for project management

Proven track record of customer interaction and relationship management

Knowledge of servers and data centers is a must

Working knowledge of hard disk drives (HDD) and solid state drives (SSD)

Understanding of best coding practices in languages like: C, C#, C++

Strong skills with firmware and software for NAND flash, including flash translation layer (FTL) and host interface layer (HIL)

Familiarity with some of the storage protocols/interfaces: SATA, SCSI, SAS, NVMe

Understanding of SOC microcontrollers, real time operating systems (RTOS), Linux kernel, storage stack and device drivers is a plus
