Director Program Management Prudential Newark

Job Description:
The Director, Program Management, will be part of a team that supports Prudential-wide Veteran Initiatives. The incumbent will be instrumental in efforts to identify and place top Veteran talent across the Prudential businesses and in retaining and developing our existing Veteran talent. The successful candidate will support Prudential?s joint veteran recruiting initiatives for both home office and field openings. In addition, the incumbent will have opportunities to work with his/her teammates within the Veterans Initiatives Office on initiatives that cross businesses and/or functions.

This position is located in Newark, NJ and will report to the Vice President, Veterans Initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate Prudential?s relationship with organizations such as US Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes, Recruit Military, Wall Street Warfighters, Student Veterans of America, and others.
Evaluate other organizations and sources of veteran talent and make recommendations for potential new partnerships to ensure we are have the best slate of partnerships and hiring events and opportunities available to the enterprise.
Collaborate with the Corporate Staffing organization and Prudential Advisors Recruiting to ensure a consistent veteran candidate experience, to leverage recruiting resources effectively and to post positions on external websites/job boards; collaborate to determine and coordinate participation and identify participants.
Partner with recruiters to identify open requisitions that are ideal fits for Veteran candidate consideration.
Pre-screen candidates from a variety of sources as appropriate to recommend to recruiters and business unit hiring managers for positions and to determine next steps; follow through until final disposition and develop/maintain database for tracking.
Coordinate and attend recruiting events to attract and identify top talent at various levels across the Enterprise.
Support the Veteran recruiting efforts for Student Veterans at top tier schools for both full time and intern hires. Working closely with recruiters and business representatives, assist with the overall recruiting strategy and implementation including candidate identification, tracking, placement, website content and on-campus activities.
Develop and manage relationship with Student Veteran organizations at these schools; coordinate site visits, presentations, panel participation, etc.
Support recruiting plans for all Veteran full-time and intern hires at these schools; maintain and analyze hiring metrics.
Assist with delivery and follow up of ?Value of A Veteran? educational sessions for business unit hiring managers, human resources professionals, and recruiters.
Work with hiring managers to develop processes and procedures to assist business leaders with retention of veteran talent in their organizations. Share these best practices with other Prudential businesses and with other companies as appropriate.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience
A minimum of 5 years HR or recruiting experience.
Experience recruiting Veterans for corporate positions.
Comprehensive behavioral interview and candidate assessment skills.
Strong communication skills including consultation, collaboration, presentation and influence.
Organization, time management and project management skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
Demonstrated attention to detail, follow-through, drive for results and initiative.
High level of flexibility, innovation, and adaptability to change.
Ability and willingness to conduct executive presentations and briefings.
Candidates must be willing and available to work hours as required to meet needs, which may vary. Ability to travel up to 25%- 50%.
Bachelor?s degree strongly preferred or equivalent military experience.
Familiarity with HR Systems such as PeopleSoft as well as MS Office tools (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) is a plus.
