Job Description:
As our Global DTC Merchandise Director - Nike Factory Stores, you’ll work in a dynamic, evolving environment to provide leadership and functional excellence throughout the category merchandising process. You’ll perform work in support of brand plans; integrates company mission and planning; leads or participates in key initiatives, programs or products with moderate to wide visibility.
You’ll ensure merchandised assortments deliver differentiation of the market place and drive incremental growth. You’ll work to ensure assortment category vision is driven to the retail floor and that end state is profitable consumer right assortments. You'll manage the integrated Category Go-to-Market alignment process; assist Geo's and coordinate Global DTC deliverables to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. This includes providing direction in product line plans to help drive an "edit to amplify" and "end in mind" approach to product. You'll work with Global teams to communicate the total category collections as well as the directed assortment strategies to all category and brand merchandising teams around the world in a consistent manner. You'll also lead review processes post season to establish key factors for success or areas of improvement. You'll lead teams to meet timelines and output needed for successful hand over to the geography/territory merchandising and geography buying teams.
In addition, you'll build strong relationships with global brand and category merchandising teams and lead your team to build similar relationships within the geos. You’ll provide leadership to managers and/or professional staff, and will be accountable for the performance and results of multiple related units and projects. You’ll develop departmental plans, including business, and organizational priorities and apply functional and business understanding /creative problem solving skills to create a positive impact on the business.
Requirements For The Position Include
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field required
Minimum 8-9 years' progressively responsible experience in merchandising, integrated retail and/or product creation related role
Demonstrate leadership capability, including the ability to inspire, mentor and influence others within a work group
Applies business and management expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives within or across disciplines or departments
Ability to identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organizational problems
Fully proficient skills in assortment planning, retail acumen, financial skills, retail math (sell thru, APS, GM, etc), marketplace knowledge, consumer knowledge and line planning
Proven and tested retail experience in a buying, planning and/or merchandising function.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
Experience in a cross functional work environment, project management or matrix organization
Strong brand understanding and ability to deliver a premium consumer experience
Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%
