Director Global Analytics eCommerce Staples Framingham

Job Description:
As a critical member of the Global Analytics team, this person provides the strategic direction, supporting the VP of Global eCommerce Analytics, for all eCommerce Analytics across the .com, SBA and Canadian platforms. The position works closely with the Director of Quill Ecommerce Analytics in order to share best practices and leverage insights learned in each SBU.

This role assumes responsibility for North American Mobile Analytics, Copy & Print Analytics, Omni for all “Click and Collect Analytics” and Data Science as part of its mission.



The candidate must demonstrate an ability to manage and develop a team responsible in translating business challenges into targeted analytics and recommendations.



A candidate should be self motivated, with a can-do attitude and desire to continuously take on new challenges. The successful candidate will have several years of analytics experience and will possess strong organization, leadership and communication skills.



Primary Responsibilities:
In total, this role has the analytics responsibility for ~$10B in online revenue with associates based in Framingham, Toronto, Broomfield, Seattle, and Amsterdam.
This position interacts with Senior Global Ecommerce leadership (EVP, SVP & VP) as well as peer level directors in Product Management, Omni, Marketing and Merchandising. This position facilitates the exchange of information, as well as influences the prioritization of developing new analytics capabilities across SBU’s and functional areas.
Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on best practices and standards for developing analysis, predictive models, and actionable reporting
Share best practices and analytical insights across the entire global Staples organization
Coach, supervise and mentor staff of professional analysts, data scientists and managers
This position evaluates opportunities for better analytics capabilities through use of 3rd party tools, software and emerging data science capabilities used to drive revenue, profit and an enhanced customer experience.

Preferred

10+ years’ experience in ecommerce/digital analytics within a large Corporate environment
Graduate degree required (MBA, MS)
Proven success in management/ development of an analytics team
Prior experience in developing and managing direct reports, internal clients and vendors
Ability to work with & at times lead large groups of associates at all levels of management
Strong and effective presentation and communication skills, being comfortable speaking with senior leadership.
Academic background in quantitative coursework including Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Economics, Econometrics, Business or other related field.
Versed in web analytics packages (Omniture, Qubit, Coremetrics)
Experienced in SQL, SAS, R, and other emerging data science languages
