Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area that is focused on external project management. Oversees the planning, project execution and day-to-day support required for the company’s Implementation Services Project Management teams and related activities. Actively contributes to the creation and implementation of overall project strategy, methodology and best practices across the PMO. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Foster strong teamwork orientation. Analyze and resolve work problems. Ensure teams have the resources and support to provide superior service. Mentor and manage a staff of Project managers.
Hands-on and involved leading and driving local and global initiatives through to a successful conclusion, utilizing a mixture of program and project management, business analysis and relationship building skills. Ultimately accountable for the success of projects and programs.
Job Accountabilities
• Understand, Adhere and Enforce all Corporate Policies to include but not limited to ACI Code of Ethics and Global Information Security.
• Directs a team of Project Management staff, including interviewing, selecting, and training staff; monitoring and appraising performance of direct reports; coaching, motivating team members; and completing human resource management functions.
• Acts as a champion for PMO organizational initiatives and a visible and vocal supporter of the company’s strategic goals.
• Highly capable of improving individual and team morale and creating a strong appetite for learning. Positively impacts individuals and entire teams as a result of establishing a continuous improvement culture.
• Initiates and maintains contact with internal and external organizations and individuals to ensure appropriate cooperation, coordination and information exchange, with the goal of properly developing the staff and successfully completing assigned projects.
• Oversees the planning, project execution and day-to-day support required for the company’s Implementation Services/Customer projects and related activities.
• Oversees identification and mitigation of risk by monitoring projects, assessing potential risks and serving as an escalation point for projects within their portfolio.
• Proactive in identifying issues, properly escalates, and provides visibility to the senior executive staff as appropriate.
• Maintains a detailed understanding of the industry, company products and overall business knowledge. Understands the customer’s goals, business needs and current business and economic trends. Uses this and other related product and industry knowledge to build solutions with customers.
• Confers with customers and/or internal partners requesting projects for clarification and to gather information regarding project scope, purpose, design and implementation. Analyzes data to determine effect on project.
• Understands the budget and resource impacts of multiple projects in multiple departments against the overall budget and resource pool that the projects draw from. Plans and puts together proposals in support of budgeting or forecasting. Plans and manages the Project Management department budget.
• Leads project management process improvement and best practice assignments. Evaluates and develops improvement of overall project planning.
• Analyzes business opportunities and recommends solutions, including ACI financial needs.
• Identifies opportunities to leverage ACI capabilities or solutions across functional areas.
Qualifications
• Assists with conducting strategic planning and decision making which addresses long-term business and customer objectives. Highly Desired Qualifications• Basic Knowledge of SalesForce, Clarity and Oracle systems desirable.
• History of successful project management on large complex software projects.
• Global experience with geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience within a customer facing services delivery organization.
• Background in Agile methodology is a plus.
