Director Defense Logistics Agency Programs Boeing St. Louis

Job Description:
Director of DLA Programs will have overall responsibility for all engineering activity and provide oversight of technical approaches, products and processes. The Chief Engineer will work closely with Supply Chain Management (SCM)/Supplier Management to coordinate and ensure SCM requirements are being satisfied by the engineering products/analyses. This position will be a member of the DLA organization Leadership Team.
Additional Responsibilities/tasks Include

Develops and executes engineering project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals to support achieving the parts availability the DLA customer requires.
Develops workgroup, project or operational goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with the Integrated Logistics business vision/strategy and DLA program objectives.
Defines and achieves goals to improve productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. Acquires required engineering resources to ensure on-time submittal of proposal and meet contract commitments.
Identifies and leads process improvements and cost improvement initiatives. Proactively communicates engineering status, conducts and participates in team meetings, provides presentations and listens to employee concerns and suggestions.
Measures progress, making adjustments as needed. Ensures workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

The candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced, diverse work environment. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, supply chain management/supplier management, contracts, quality, manufacturing/operations, product support, and program management.

The successful candidate must also be able to drive process improvement and first time quality across a diverse team. The candidate must have strong business acumen and be able to work at senior levels of the business. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Minimum of 5-years experience managing and/or leading cross-functional teams and working closely with supplier management/supply chain management is required. Strong engineering expertise and knowledge of military aircraft parts is preferred. Experience working closely with Department of Defense customers is also preferred.

Minimum of 5-years experience working on government proposals, to include Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) compliant proposals also required. Experience supporting the development of the engineering technical data packages needed to produce aircraft parts and components preferred. Also preferred is experience in assessing supplier quotes for procurement of military aircraft parts or components.

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics is required.
