Amazon is seeking a Program Director of Operations (PMO) to join our NAFC Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) team, a team of program and project managers dedicated to develop and implement Best Practices, Standards, Toolkits and Systems across our Fulfillment Operations and working with people at all levels in our wide and growing network of state-of-the-art fulfillment centers.
Primary Responsibilities
You will participate in and lead focused and strategically critical projects across North America in all areas of the business as required to support NAFC network. You will study, learn, improve and rollout Best Practices and Standards for Amazon FC operational processes.
Specifically, you will support execution in the field of ACES initiatives including Benchmarking, Standards, Best Practices and continuous improvement systems. You will support training and facilitation of ACES programs. Also, as a manager you will manage and execute cross-functional projects to develop mechanisms to drive cost reduction.
Mentor Amazon Fulfillment Center (FC) staff at the Director, General Manager, Senior Manager, Operations Manager, Area Manager and Process Assistance levels in to drive adoption of standard work system and FC network-wide benchmarked best practices into the daily work and habits of FC staff
Support network level excellence in six sigma (DMAIC) and lean practices through designing and implementing systems, metrics, and programs that drive adoption and continuous improvement.
Support Benchmark/Standards driven process improvements, Best Practice sharing, and standardization across all North American Fulfillment Center (NAFC) processes.
Monitor and Provide metrics inputs to various reporting decks; communicate key performance indicators to the FCs in support of network objectives.
Supplement the efforts of those members of the ACES Process Improvement team members who would be engaged with several groups within Amazon, including Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Transportation, Safety, Quality, Retail, Inventory Management, and others.
Collaborate with counterparts through the ACES Ambassador Program in other NAFC ACES functional areas (Safety, Quality, Learning, and Loss Prevention) as well as the Operations Engineering team and FC Launch SME team to drive standardization and documentation of core process elements to support network growth and scale.
