Job Description: • 2-minute read •
The Director, Design Strategy, Global Snacks is a senior design strategist responsible for the creation of dynamic, focused, and smart design plans with clearly actionable goals, decision criteria and design results that will have a major impact on the innovation and growth of multibillion dollars brands across the Global Snacks Group. The Design Director role is particularly pivotal in framing the way business challenges can be resolved through design and serving as a liaison between design, executives, and other internal stakeholders.
S/he will demonstrate superior ability to lead strategic efforts on projects, working effectively with internal stakeholders, including marketing, creative, business, and brand executives. The main objective of this role is to fully represent and advocate design within Pepsi's culture and to provide enlightened design solutions and strategies that ensure brand growth.

As the global media and retail channel environments become more complex and fragmented, consumers experience and learn about brands through a much wider and more complex set of discrete and interdependent channels. Increasingly we live in a world where "everything communicates"- a TV Commercial, a Pack, a Vending Machine, a Delivery Truck, a Website …each experience of which adds for the consumer one more element of emotional connection and understanding of brands.

As PepsiCo builds its Trademarks globally in an increasingly fragmented media environment, it is more critical than ever before that our brands have a consistent, inspiring and compelling "voice" across the diversity of channels and consumer touchpoints.

Design Strategy Development: Takes ownership of the design strategy for specific brands in the portfolio, working in collaboration with the Chief Design Officer, the Head of Design, Global Snacks and group design leaders, cutting across brand, product, packaging, marketing equipment, and advertising. Provides a strategic lens within projects that includes consideration of the brand storytelling, product portfolio, and immediate as well as long-term business goals. Develops clear design Strategy initiatives and processes, and establish foundations for platform development and concepting.

Design R&D and Innovation: Leads strategic design efforts, conducts research activities and effectively translates customer needs into actionable design requirements. Identifies and promotes self-initiated design programs that generate critical business value for one or more divisions. Responsible for delivering appropriate design insights, design criteria, and engaging underlying design.

Design Advocacy: Inspires a holistic approach to design, facilitate multi-disciplinary collaborative ideation sessions, embed strategic design thinking in design processes. Responsible for partnering with crossfunctional leaders within PepsiCo as well as external suppliers to ensure design assets are developed and delivered with strategic value and that the value of design is ultimately maximized.

Qualifications:
