Director Research Kargo New York City

Job Description:
Kargo is seeking a Director of Research to join the company. The Director of Research will be responsible for developing thought leadership and proprietary research on the role of quality and brand awareness in mobile, support major RFPs and work closely with the Sales team to conduct ad effectiveness studies across our network. This role will also play a critical role in helping marketers understand campaign performance. The role includes managing relationships with external research vendors and developing accountability solutions for customers. This role will also serve as the internal research expert to the sales teams, surfacing trends, consumer insights and opportunities from primary research and syndicated sources. The role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and will work closely with leaders in Sales, Product and Data.

Responsibilities
Deliver unique thought-leadership research for the company that can be used to develop deeper insights and client relationships
Participate in client-facing strategy sessions and research presentations to further relationships with largest advertisers
Leverage syndicated and custom ROI/ad effectiveness research methods to show performance
Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product and Data.
Work with Data team to mine internal data and gain insights that can be used for external thought leadership.
Serve as the research, data and insights expert for the sales teams you support
Identify and investigate new media measurement models, data sources, and research partners.
Work closely with marketing teams to market thought leadership and produce case studies showcasing best practices
See the big picture and clearly communicate objectives, status, tactics and results to all stakeholders
Establish solid working relationship with stakeholders and become a close partner with respect to reporting, data and business needs
Participate in industry conferences and provide POVs on key research and measurement trends in mobile (ie viewability)

Qualifications
5-8 years relevant work experience in online research
Experience conceiving of, executing and working with Marketing to produce custom research and thought leadership studies
Experience analyzing the ROI of media campaigns and initiatives
BA/BS in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, accounting, economics, business)
Relevant higher degrees such as an MBA from a leading school are advantageous but not a requirement
Strategic thinker with ability to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and keep ahead of industry trends
Experience supporting advertising agencies and sales/business development teams with consumer insight initiatives
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable ability to motivate high performing teams
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Demonstrable persistence and resilience at accomplishing difficult tasks, plus proven ability to learn from failures
Ability and willingness to roll up the sleeves and get things done

Technical Qualifications
Excel expert user and ability to extract and manipulate data with a high degree of accuracy
PowerPoint expert user
Understanding of statistical and market research concepts
Understanding of key digital ad platforms (ie programmatic, mobile, native)
Direct experience with research services like comScore, Nielsen, Millward Brown Digital, eMarketer
