Director Quality ConAgra Foods St. Louis

Job Description:
Provides QA leadership for Private Brands Quality Assurance Systems. This position will lead a cross functional team that will develop and implement programs with internal and external suppliers, provide technical requirements and support to internal manufacturing sites, and maintain and develop a food safety quality manual for internal and external manufacturing requirements and standards.

Position Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality
Lead and develop the supplier approval process
Drive continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers through an effective feedback loop and scorecard approach
Collaborate with internal stake holders (R&D, Manufacturing and Procurement) to improve and optimize supply and associated internal processes
Meet regulatory and GFSI requirements through supplier quality process
Technical Excellence/ Support:
Lead a small team of internal experts in microbiology, thermal processing, and sanitation
Develop scope of work for outsourced technical and analytical needs
Provide problem solving and continuous improvement tools and support to internal manufacturing sites
Provide or direct internal audit services where required
Set direction through policy for Food Safety expectations in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs team and FSandQ leadership
Quality Administration:
Maintain and develop an internal Quality Manual for all sites
Provide expectations in the form of policy/manuals for external sites where appropriate
Provide all required documentation to site teams to support GFSI and regulatory requirements
Provide leadership in escalated events across the supply chain (internal and external) and maintain a crisis team/business continuity process
Support and/or lead certification processes as determined with crossfunctional partners
Maintain a centralized audit schedule (customer, internal, external, GFSI, etc)

Position Requirements
BS in Food Science or related field required, MS preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of food industry experience in Quality Assurance required; 12 years preferred.
Proven leadership skills as related to quality assurance and food safety in a manufacturing environment. Multiple process types perferred
Proven track record in people management (developing, coaching, mentoring, directing) and budget management.
Strong relationship skills to achieve sustainable partnerships and collaboration internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to successfully direct multiple functions in establishing and delivering consistent results. Timeline and performance driven.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate Quality Assurance objectives across all levels of an organization.
Excellent negotiating skills when working through conflict resolution.
Experience with using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Ability to travel up to 40%
