Job Description:
This position is located in the Bureau of Human Resources and is responsible for the programs and policies within the Office of Accessibility and Accommodations. The office is comprised of two divisions and is responsible for agency human resource policies and programs that support the recruitment and retention of persons with disabilities, as well as the accessibility of Department facilities, transportation, equipment, computer applications, websites, media products and other programs and events for persons with disabilities.

Qualifications
Applicants will be evaluated by a Qualifications Review Panel of senior officials. The Panel will rate applicants on the basis of the quality and extent of total accomplishments, experience and education. The Panel will determine the degree to which candidates possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the mandatory technical requirements of the position and the Mandatory Executive Core Qualification requirements. Among the factors the evaluation panel will consider in determining the applicant's relative capacity and fitness for the position are education, training, experience and demonstrated executive level qualifications. The Panel will rate your application against each of the Mandatory Executive Core Qualifications and Mandatory Technical Qualifications to determine the best qualified candidates. Candidates determined to be best qualified candidates will be referred to the selecting official for further consideration for the position.

DUTIES:
The incumbent of this position supervises a staff of approximately thirty seven employees and contractors, and is comprised of two divisions. One division will be responsible for Department policy and reasonable accommodations for employees and job applicants with disabilities, the other division is responsible for ensuring the Department is compliant with federal accessibility standards for persons with disabilities.

HR/OAA is responsible for processing requests for reasonable accommodation from employees and applicants for employment with disabilities, and ensuring that the agency is in compliance with accessibility requirements for persons with disabilities. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership to a team that develops and executes policies, procedures and programs that ensure the agency’s compliance with Sections 501, 504, and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
Relocation expenses will NOT be paid.

One year probationary period, unless excepted by
regulation.
