Job Description:
This Director of Product Development will develop exciting new capabilities that will help engage more customers in financial planning, educate customers on strategies to improve their outcomes and stay better informed on the status of their plans. This individual will set and drive the product vision for a cross-functional team that will be delivering exciting functionality to our extensive user base.
The Director of Product Development is a critical role which will be engaged in all aspects of the product development cycle with a wide variety of business partners, including quantitative analysts, user experience designers, technology developers, lawyers, representatives, marketers and many more. The focus of the role will change over time allowing the individual to gain exposure to a variety of experiences and subject matter.
Initially, the role will focus on an important and growing area for Fidelity, Portfolio Advisory Services at Work, which is a key component of the overall offering for Fidelity’s Workplace Investing clients. The Director of Product Development will work collaboratively with the Portfolio Advisory Services at Work Product team to design and develop a personalized, integrated and holistic guidance experience for these customers.
A successful candidate is a proactive individual who can work “broadly” at times and then “go deep” at other times, depending on the situation. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are very important for success, as is the ability to communicate and coordinate with others.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop new capabilities to provide investment guidance and education in an intuitive way to customers.
Work with other Product Development Directors to develop an end-to-end, holistic and personalized digital guidance experience
Partner with the Managed Accounts product team to enhance the digital guidance experience
Work with business partners to develop the product vision and requirements
Be the subject matter expert and work closely with technology teams to bring the product(s) to market

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelors or equivalent with 10+ years of experience or Masters with 5-10 years of experience.
Experience within Financial Services industry and strong knowledge of competitive environment
Experience with new product/service development and enterprise-wide initiatives
Skills and Knowledge
Passion for for improving the customer experience by developing innovative products
Ability to analyze complex topics and develop actionable next steps
Ability to explain complex information clearly, using clear, simple, audience-appropriate language
Ability to influence and synthesize multiple and diverse perspectives into a meaningful and engaging customer experience
Strong collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
