Direct and manage all activities of the Safety, Health and Environment Department in a manner that ensures the safe and efficient conduct of effective safety and environmental programs; efficient project management activities; and cost management.
Essential Functions
Act as the safety and environmental officer for the facility including acting as the company’s representative to governmental agencies, consulting firms, law firms, etc.
Develop and implement training activities that exceed the safety and environmental responsibilities of the facility and meet the requirements of applicable governmental agencies and L’Oreal USA internal standards for programs
Audit all safety and health programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness
Direct and manage security operations for the facility
Manage in conformance with “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP)
Specify assigned and trained personnel that will be responsible for approving manifests for off-site shipment by designated waste handler
Offer expertise and provide leadership-level support for initiatives to reduce company-wide resource consumption and waste generation.
Propose appropriate Objectives and KPI’s for the Zone that incorporate the Group's Objectives
Oversee correct implementation and risk assessment for investments; lead steering committees for large projects and provide expertise on EHS&S issues.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental engineering or related science field is preferred. A Master’s is preferred. Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or PE are desired.
Five to eight years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Candidate must be a technical expert in Industrial Safety, Hygiene and Environmental Sustainability.
ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHASA 18001, and VPP Star experience
Certified Safety Professional Certification highly desirable.
