The Director, Product Management is responsible for the success of our core web security offerings targeted at SMBs in alignment with the Trust Services business unit strategy. Critically evaluating customer needs, the security threat landscape, and the competitive environment, the person in this role will lead the definition of our offerings, work with our user experience and product development teams to build our next generation products, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a great customer experience end-to-end and a successful go-to-market.
This role requires the person to have both strong business acumen and strong technical skills.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a high-level of initiative, detail orientated and has the ability to work cross functionally with other Symantec business units and will be a strong team player.
Scope Of Responsibilities
• Develop and evangelize product strategies focused on Symantec Trust Service products and build a roadmap to meet the business unit’s short and long term objectives.
• Lead team of direct reports and cross functional team of user experience, engineering, authentication, operations, marketing, sales, support and other stakeholders across the business unit to develop, implement and drive product line success.
• Lead efforts on competitive analysis that details our competitor’s marketing, sales and product strategies.
• Own product requirements and roadmaps for new products/services as well as enhancement/change requirements for existing products/services to meet changing market and competitive needs.
• Provide product support to sales, support, customers and other stakeholders.
• Evangelize solution value proposition and offerings at customer visits, sales training, seminars, and trade shows.
• Develop data driven models and analytical approaches to determine business performance, growth and emerging opportunities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong business, technical, communication and project skills and have a track record of delivering business results through partnerships
• Proven ability at launching new products from concept to launch.
• Self-starter, motivated, energetic visionary product leader.
• Prior experience in software product management in a high tech company (10+ years).
• Prior experience in product management for SaaS/cloud software solutions (2+ years).
• Experience in IT Security, SaaS and Web Hosting marketing industry a plus.
• Preferred undergraduate degree in computer science plus an MBA.
• Highly analytical decision-making approach.
• Excellent presentation and customer facing skills.
• Demonstrated success at indirect management in matrix organizations.
• Strong multi-tasking, multi-project skills across time zones.
• Ability to travel 20% of the time
