Report to Head of Big Data Platform Engineering and Product development, the holder of this role will lead the design and development of Big Data Platform & Products. The role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders and multi-functional teams across the company to support analytical, internal and external customer (consumer & business) facing applications & commercial products. The role also provides the jobholder with an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership and commercial acumen.

Qualifications• Provides leadership for one or more Big Data Platforms and use strong understanding of the AXP Business and Commercial Platform Productions, to define & deliver a scalable technology platform capability
• Develop and implement a platform roadmap that supports business needs and platform continuity during a time of industry and regulatory driven change
• Develop and manage, along with Technology, the platform strategy
• Design & develop Big Data Technology & Data products to ensure consistency and synergy in data , process and platform developments
• Collaborate with and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders in the business and in Services to ensure the technology platform(s) supports the strategy and growth plans of the RBS businesses
• Responsibility for platform sustainability through the development of people, attracting, retaining and developing talent, building technical change capability, robust succession plans and effective talent management
• Track record of exerting significant influence to business and technology partners for technology platforms in a financial services organization
• Knowledge of Big Data Platform , function and capabilities
• Significant platform management experience and recognized as a commercial technology products developer
• Excellent knowledge of development tools and system architectures and a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and approaches
• Commercial acumen including third party management with a track record of delivery to budge
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to influence stakeholders, internally & externally, at a senior level
• Significant experience of creating and delivering technology platform strategies combined with a successful track record for delivering change within a top tier Technology function
• Model behaviors in line with the Leadership standards
• MUST HAVE knowledge in Hadoop- at least 1 year exp, Ecosystem, HDFS, Map/Reduce, HBase, Yarn, Oozie, Pig, Hive, Spark, Tez, Kafka, Storm and similar
• Experience in developing high impact capabilities using latest technologies
Educational Requirement
• Advanced degree in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Statistics, Business Administration or Equivalent
