Director - Digital Analytics, - E! Entertainment - NBCUniversal - Los Angeles
Job description
The first priority for this role is to help E! Digital and News build upon its success and solidify its position as the industry's top entertainment news destination. Our digital/mobile offerings are currently #1 in every category in which we operate, have more than doubled in size over the last year and are poised for continued significant growth. Understanding how the audience engages with E!'s digital and mobile platforms will be one of this role's main goals. Areas include:
Editorial & content optimization (what content works, when, on what platforms and how best to optimize for best audience engagement and delivery)
Competitive Analysis and positioning versus others in the competitive set to generate new ideas for our team, find areas of potential strength and weakness with us vs competitors.
Collaborate with linear and consumer research to understand user/audience perceptions, motivations, usability testing, on-air performance of news offerings.
DIGITAL ANALYTICS RESPONSIBILITIES :
Audience segmentation: Identify high potential user segments and partner with product team to evaluate targeted content and optimize user engagement.
Analysis of product performance
Collaborate with digital teams and consultant with product implementation and QA
Lead A/B testing.
MARKETING ANALYTICS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social monitoring and reporting for network and key series
Building insight to understand the social response to our marketing and outreach
Analysis of social audiences to allow better messaging and targeting
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee E! and Esquire's regular digital, social and marketing metrics reporting
Establish priorities, set expectations and manage workflow.
Provide training and mentorship to direct report(s).
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years of experience in digitally-focused news organization with strong pop culture/entertainment content (Buzzfeed, Huffington Post, People, TMZ, Yahoo, CNN.com, etc.).
BA/BS degree in analytically-focused program.
Expert and in-depth knowledge of the following tools; Adobe/Omniture: AdHoc Analysis (formerly SiteCatalyst and Discover); comScore suite of products: comScore Media Metrix, Mobile Metrix, Video Metrix, etc.; Adobe Target
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the following tools preferred; Adobe Audience Manager; Adobe/Omniture implementation; Social media analytics tools such as ListenFirst, Nielsen Social Guide, Social Flow, Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights, Google analytics; Experian Hitwise.; SQL
Ability to influence, build relationships quickly and work collaboratively across a number of departments and teams.
Excellent analytical abilities and strategic voice in regular meetings.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to tell a compelling story with strategic insight in presentations.
Ability to manage projects from conception to completion, and to manage and prioritize a range of projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to incorporate a broad range of research resources to tell a compelling story.
