The Quality Assurance Director for Novatel Wireless is responsible for instituting a quality assurance program to support the business and customer satisfaction objectives. The QA Director will develop quality objectives, strategies, procedures, processes and corrective actions in conjunction with Engineering and Operations leadership. The QA Director reports to the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities
In alignment with Corporate objectives, define and implement a comprehensive Quality Management System compliant with ISO9001
Maintain Novatel Wireless ISO9001-2015 certification and our Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability program
Working with Engineering management define quality measures within the new product development processes to ensure product quality that meets customer expectations
Confirm all new product certifications are achieved in support of program milestones
Working with Sourcing, define and implement Supplier Quality program to assure process and part quality standards are maintained
Working with Operations Engineering define and implement a factory quality control program to assure product quality standards are maintained
Working with Order Management and Logistics define and implement metrics that monitor process and product handling to assure the customers receive products on time and in quality condition
Through the management of Reverse Logistics, gather critical fault data for product improvements and corrective actions within the design, manufacturing and delivery processes
Interface with customers regarding product quality complaints, lead the internal efforts to address the issues and provide customer updates until resolved
Responsible for internal Quality system audit program and ensure appropriate, effective corrective action plan development and implementation through CAPA system
Responsible for the provision and analysis of the Quality System metrics for Management Reviews with Novatel Wireless Executive Team
Requirements
7+ years of experience with quality assurance programs and/or quality engineering at managerial or director level
Related degree/diploma in operations, engineering or business
Superior knowledge of quality concepts, methods and standards
Practical experience in development of quality assurance programs and quality assurance manual within the telecom industry
Experience with ISO 9001 or similar standards
Excellent communications, leadership and facilitation skills
