Director Enterprise Engineering Projects Ingersoll Rand Charlotte

Job Description
The Director of Enterprise Engineering Projects manages and delivers the planned output and supports the implementation of key engineering strategic initiatives. He or she will lead key operational and project management initiatives that include the launch or implementation of new technology special studies, networks of excellence or processes. The position will require working collaboratively across all Ingersoll Rand functional organizations to maintain a strategic view and alignment on current and upcoming initiatives. Focus on assistance in the identification and development of cross-Sector capabilities to serve customers more efficiently, and in new ways. Working with leaders from each of the business units, help to identify and implement strategic initiatives, performance measurements, and improvements to day-to-day operational processes/tools based on the use of Ingersoll Rand Projects-BOS.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for scoping and implementing Ingersoll Rand’s special projects and strategic initiatives, including the development and implementation of required plans. Works in conjunction with IR Engineering and Technology management and cross functional leaders to pursue and achieve tactical or strategic objectives pertaining to the annual GDP goals, assisting in the execution of work necessary to meet short term objectives as well.
Manage the launch of new Networks of Excellence (NoE)
Lead selected program based special projects that require cross-functional engagement with key staff across the organization, and with external stakeholders, as appropriate.
Proactively identify and engage individual experts, as well as informational resources, that can help frame and advance the Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology work on key trends or emerging issues for the Strategic Business Units and/or the Enterprise.
Assist in the development of the department’s annual work plan and budget.
Assist in developing funding proposals for departmental and/or organizational projects and initiatives.


SKILLS:

Strong background in Program Management
Knowledge of the Engineering & Technology function and the associated processes
Organizational skills and demonstrated capacity to develop and implement practical strategies, plans, and solutions to identified issues and problems.
Strong drive for results.
Manage and influence teams and individuals across multiple organizations.
Build and strengthen relationships inside and outside the organization and company
Ability to work independently and to undertake supervisory responsibilities.
Prioritize work load, meet deadlines, adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Information Systems.
MS or MBA preferred.
PMI Certification (preferred)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10 years of experience in Project and/or Portfolio Management
Experience in developing processes and standards valued.
Experience in Product Development and Engineering Processes valued.
